I am not a big Adam “EDGE” Copeland fan but I consider his wrestling journey worth inspiring. He is 4 time wwe champion, 7 time world heavyweight champion,5 time intercontinental champion,1 time united states champion & record 14 time tag team. He is the “king of the ring”, ”money in the bank”, Royal Rumble winner. On whole there is nothing that he didn’t achieve in his 15 year wrestling career.
His last match at WRESTLEMANIA 27 for world heavyweight championship and he came out as a winner. There is no better way to end. I am writing this article because I m really want to congratulate him for making his dream come true.
His whole journey is like a Cinderella story.A kid sitting 13 rows back watching ultimate warrior vs hulkhogan at wrestlemania 6,now is in mainevent match at Wrestlemania. It’s hard not to be inspired by that.

His love for pro wrestling immensely right from the childhood & it was cherry on the cake when he found his tag team patner with the same burning passion “christain”.when Adamwas at 16, wrestlemania 6 happened at Toronto his mother did everything she could to make his son got a chance to see his childhood hero hulkhogan which make his dream an only aim for his life.Once he & Christain finished their high school,there is a wrestling school in Toronto by sweet daddy siki & ron Hutchison & they having an essay writing contest “why you want to be a pro wrestler?” winner will get free training as well as gym. So Adam wrote not a best letter but an emotional one which struck sweet daddy siki & he won the contest. Through all the struggle & sacrifices adam got a call from WWE just after he completed his college. His first match was against bob holly aks hardcore holly & he was appreciated not only by crowd but also fellow pro wrestlers such as razor ramon, bret hart etc.
He entered in WWE as a gimmick of mysterious guy. It’s cool visually but salient at same time although edge is very good when it comes to mic skills. Soon after christain joined him & they formed a team with gangrel. They called themselves “Broods” which gives a new dimension to his character. They have the most coolest entrance during attitude era period. One of the best thing about Edge is his eyes which is expressive which help him to portray his evilness throughout his pro wrestling journey.
His talent as well as christain’s talent was witnessed by everyone when they feud up with the hardy boyz in late 1999.Their matches were always phenomenal. so,they had “best of 7” tournament with hardyz for Tori runnels(former wwe diva).So at NO Mercy 1999 there was first time ever tag team ladder match & on that night they redefine what a ladder match is all about. They stole the show in fact, next night on RAW they got the standing ovation from the crowd.The rivalry between edge & christain versus hardyz was phenomenal but it went to next level when Dudley boyz entered into picture.They put tag team wresting back on the map. So, at WRESTLEMANIA 16(2000) all 3 teams entered into triangle ladder match for wwe tag team championship & that was the best match of that night. To be frank all 3 teams put everything on the line whenever they collide & it results as “CLASSIC”. Their rivalry introduces the concept of TLC(tables, ladders & chairs) at WRESTLEMANIA 17(2001) & that match is considered as one of the best match of WRESTLEMANIA history.In that edge speared jeff hardy from 20 feet ladder it seems like watching a superman movie . It was sick & amazing at same time. To be precise , I had seen that match more than 100 times.

The coolest thing about edge is that he is a variety package. He can give you a death-defying action & make you laugh at silliest thing such as five second pose.being king of the ring in 2001 & rivalry with William regal & kurt angle in early 2002 help Edge to establish himself as single superstar but his success never come without a price as years of physical abuse compounded with intense rivalry eddie guerrero cause him a career threatening neck injury as a result he was out of WWE for 2 years.
But there is a sayin “what doesn’t kill you, it makes you stronger”. This quote is true when it comes to Edge.When he returned in 2004,he was more focused then ever.it seems like he was ready for the main prize that means WWE or World championship.He was not the same guy anymore. I remember when he wrestled first time in Toronto after neck versus Jericho & batista triple threat for intercontinental championship. He being booed by his home crowd.That was the turning point for him to be the greatest heel of WWE of all time. He lived with that character.
Then at WRESTLEMAINA 21(2005) he became the first ever “Mr. money in the bank” but still something is missing & that was Amy “Lita” Dumas.When Edge real-life relationship with lita was mixed WWE storyline it completes Edge as a true heel. They both complement each other on or off the ring. She was adding dimension –by-dimension to Edge. At “Armageddon 2005” the d-day came when he cash-in his money in money in the bank against john Cena & won the WWE championship after giving him spear. This gave him the name of “Ultimate Opportunist” .If today money in the bank meant something is only because of Edge. He shut the mouth of his critics who think he never be a big star because of his unorthodox style.he is the only WWE superstar who had the live sex celebration on Raw for his WWE championship victory.His rivalry against cena considered as the greatest rivalry post- attitude era.

At Wrestlemania 22(2006), He again stole the show in a match against hardcore legend Mick foley. Spearing foley on a fire table considered one of best Wrestlemania moments of all time.In the match he proved that he is not talented but gutsy too who can anything. He was so good as bad guy.From that point he never turned back winning World & WWE title again n again defeating cena, Batista & became the flagship of Smackdown brand. But his biggest challenge lies ahead.
Being indulge in on-screen love relationship with Vickie guerrerro & conspiracy of nearly 6 months. Finally, At Wrestlemania 24(2008) Edge faced against the phenom “THE UNDERTAKER”. It was the only time when he was numb because not only he was facing the undertaker but also in a main event match at grand stage. Although Edge lost that match but it was an incredible match. At SURVIVOR SERIES 2009,with his renewed avatar but with same with same opportunistic ways he once again able to stay on top by winning WWE championship. I’ll not say he CHEATS but he seizes the OPPORTUNITY. It was just another layer to his persona. But his injuries were biggest obstacle in his road to glory.

At ROYAL RUMBLE 2010,He returned to squared circle & won the royal rumble match by eliminating Chris Jericho. While at TLC 2010,He was crowned as world heavyweight champion.
As Edge was ready to defend his World title at Wrestlemania 27(2001) against Alberto Del Rio something doesn’t seem right. He entered into Wrestlemania with a neck problem. He was victorious but on very next night he had to forfeit his title as he had to retire due to his neck injuries. He got no choice hi’s done. From selfish stand point as a fan I felt bad as I can’t see him SPEARING again but from personal stand point as human I didn’t want anything bad happen to Edge. I am glad he is living a healthy life. He got numerous injuries but he fought back & returned better than ever again & again. In 2012 he got what he deserves & that is “Hall of fame class of 2012”. At last I just want to say “THANK YOU EDGE”. He had accomplished more than people gave him credit for. I never remember Edge had a bad match. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THAT BIGGEST DREAM REALLY COME TRUE.
