Elimination Chamber 2020 Preview: Champion to possibly be replaced, Babyface to win his first title in WWE?

The most brutal stipulation match in WWE is back

It's the final PPV stop on the road to WWE WrestleMania 36. It isn't the most stacked card, nor is it a very big one (which is good, since the next PPV is going to be an estimated 6-7 hours long).

Elimination Chamber will feature matches that cement marquee bouts on the WrestleMania 36 cards. The Chamber stipulation match has seen some incredible contests over the years and there are two major Elimination Chamber matches.

Apart from that, some of the bouts will confirm who the Champions are walking into WrestleMania 36. Let's get right into the match card.

#7. Women's Elimination Chamber match - Winner faces Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36

Who will cement their place at WrestleMania?
Who will cement their place at WrestleMania?

The first of two Elimination Chamber matches will see six of RAW's top women go at it to secure a RAW Women's Championship match against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36. The match features all three former members of the Riott Squad, with Liv Morgan most recently defeating the returning Ruby Riott (with Sarah Logan as the special guest referee). There are no alliances in this match and the other competitors are Natalya, Women's Tag Team Champion Asuka, and the newcomer Shayna Baszler.

The Queen of Spades has had all the attention of the RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch, who she attacked on her 2020 RAW debut. She's currently the favorite to win the match and we tend to agree with that.

There are rumors that one-half of the tag team champions Asuka is still injured and could be out of the match. She was pulled from her match with Shayna Baszler this past episode of RAW and was replaced by her tag team partner Kairi Sane.

The same could happen here unless Nia Jax returns after 11 months after claiming she's ready on Twitter.

#6. Andrade (c) vs Humberto Carrillo - United States Championship

It was a rough February for the United States Champion Andrade, who was suspended for violating the Wellness Policy. He was out of action and aligned with Angel Garza - the newcomer who Zelina Vega has been accompanying in the Champion's absence. In a tag team match against Humberto Carrillo and Rey Mysterio, the Champion was pinned and it instantly set up another title match between the two.

It won't be surprising to see both Angel Garza and Rey Mysterio at ringside, which would mean guaranteed interference. While Andrade has been at the top of his game for a while now, Carrillo's momentum could see him capture the United States Championship in what we anticipate could be one of the few title changes of the night.

It would mean that Carrillo would be walking into WrestleMania 36 as Champion - a huge feat given that he's only been on RAW since October 2019. It would mark his first title in WWE

#5. Braun Strowman (c) vs Sami Zayn, Cesaro, and Shinsuke Nakamura - 3-on-1 handicap match for the Intercontinental Championship

Will the numbers game prove too much?
Will the numbers game prove too much?

Braun Strowman was manipulated into accepting a 3-on-1 handicap match against Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn. The latter will make his in-ring return after nearly half a year away from the ring and it's an interesting time to do so.

Braun Strowman hasn't fared too well against the numbers game despite capturing the Intercontinental Championship and we anticipate that he'll drop it to Sami Zayn.

#4. Daniel Bryan vs Drew Gulak

Daniel Bryan has been up against the likes of Heath Slater and Curtis Axel - a completely different position in comparison to where he was last year at this time. Drew Gulak has been at the forefront, boasting about numerous "weaknesses" in Bryan's game that can be exploited.

Bryan challenged Gulak to a match at Elimination Chamber and there's not much too it. It'll be a straightforward match that could end up stealing the show by surprise.

#3. The Street Profits (c) vs Seth Rollins & Murphy - RAW Tag Team Championship

It was only this past episode of RAW when The Street Profits defeated Seth Rollins and Murphy to win the RAW Tag Team Championship for the first time. They were Champions in NXT and took a few attempts before being able to capture the RAW Tag Team titles.

Kevin Owens played a big role in helping them become Champions and it'll be no surprise to see him play a similar role in helping The Street Profits retain.

#2. SmackDown Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match

This is a main event-worthy match-up
This is a main event-worthy match-up

It's not often that we get tag team main events, but this match is certainly worthy of that spot. The Miz and John Morrison will defend the SmackDown Tag Team titles inside the Elimination Chamber against five other teams - The New Day, The Usos, The Lucha House Party, Heavy Machinery, and Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.

A gauntlet match on SmackDown saw Heavy Machinery last 45 minutes, defeating four other teams before receiving a beatdown from the Champions. Ziggler and Roode took advantage, with Ziggler pinning Otis at the end.

We expect another long performance from Heavy Machinery before they ultimately fall short.

#1. AJ Styles vs Aleister Black

The two will finally face-off in a proper singles match
The two will finally face-off in a proper singles match

Aleister Black has been the man who The OC has targeted in the last few weeks. He was supposed to face AJ Styles on two different occasions but had to go through Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows before.

In the most recent match, Aleister Black would seemingly find a gauntlet stipulation added as he faced Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows before being beaten down and losing to AJ Styles.

AJ Styles, meanwhile, fell short of winning the Tuwaiq Trophy at Super ShowDown 2020 after The Undertaker took Rey Mysterio's place and beat him with one chokeslam. The rumors seem to be true and AJ Styles vs The Undertaker could be the direction for WrestleMania 36.

The big question is as to whether The Undertaker will make an appearance at Elimination Chamber. We don't see Aleister Black beating AJ Styles and we could see an Undertaker return right after the match. If not at the PPV, then a RAW appearance is virtually guaranteed.
