Joe Hendry suffered a shocking defeat, losing his TNA World Championship to a WWE Superstar in an unprecedented crossover event. The star has now finally broken his silence on the situation.
At the Battleground Premium Live Event, the Scottish star put his TNA World Title on the line against Trick Williams on May 25, 2025. Both competitors gave their all in the ring, but Hendry's efforts did not pay off. The Anointed One defeated his opponent, making him the first-ever WWE Superstar to capture the TNA World Championship.
Making an appearance on the June 5 edition of Impact, Joe Hendry finally broke his silence on losing the title to NXT star. The Prestigious One believed he had let himself, his fans, and his peers down. He further asserted that Trick Williams doesn't understand what it truly takes to hold the TNA World Championship.
"Now the [TNA] World Championship is in the hands of someone that does not work here. I was supposed to be the team captain, and I'm the one that dropped that ball. I let myself down, I let those fans down that believed in me, I let my peers down. The title is in the hands of someone who doesn't appreciate the history of that championship. The TNA World Championship is for us, TNA wrestlers, the richest prize in the game," Hendry said.
The 37-year-old former champion added:
"I want nothing more but to get another shot at Trick Williams to… but I understand that's not my spot right now. Elijah is next and he deserves it and I'll support him at Against All Odds." [From 00:46 to 01:43]

Former WWE star legitimately furious over Joe Hendry losing the TNA World Title
Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler in WWE) recently shared his two cents on Trick Williams securing a massive win over the Scottish star. He discussed this during an interview with WhatCulture.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion felt angered by Joe Hendry losing the TNA World Title to the 31-year-old.
"I'm absolutely furious and pi*sed off about it, and that's not a joke or a game, or this isn't a funny snippet or clip to play. I feel, like, Joe Hendry has accomplished so much, and he's brought so many eyes to TNA, and he's kicked so much a**," Nemeth said.
It will be exciting to see when The Prestigious One will challenge Trick Williams for the TNA World Title.
