John Cena has sent out a cryptic message after recently hinting at retirement from the WWE once and for all on an episode of SmackDown.

Cena has entertained an entire generation of fans and has been one of the top stars as well as the face of the company. However, The Cenation Leader has now transitioned to a successful acting career in Hollywood and has been making a few visits in between to pop the wrestling fans as a surprise.

The 16-time World Champion recently returned to his home wrestling promotion for a longer run due to the Hollywood strikes, but it's quite apparent that it won't last for long, with his time in the WWE coming to an end sometime soon. John Cena has also hinted that his retirement is approaching steadily and has now posted a cryptic message about gratitude on his social media.

"Do not save gratitude for the end of the journey. Embrace it on every step from the very first one," Cena wrote.

We're not sure how long we'll be able to enjoy John Cena's presence in the WWE, especially considering he might have to return to his film schedule once the Hollywood strike ends.

WWE veteran gives his thoughts on John Cena's losing streak

The GOAT has kept his place as the top star for an entire decade and conquered every challenge laid out in front of him. However, lately, he's lost his groove and has been facing more losses than someone of his status, leading to him contemplating retirement.

John Cena made the fans emotional this past week as he cut a reflective promo on SmackDown and looked back on his career. The 16-time World Champion brought up that he has not won a singles match since 2018. He would proceed to get choked up as the fans would start chanting his name in tribute.

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Cena's unfortunate losing streak on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk. He pointed out that over the years, there has been an emphasis on records and title reigns in the company.

"Is that true? 2000 days? How long has he been away from WWE?" Mantell said, "It's a long time. It is. What I've noticed about WWE, all of a sudden they're in this records department. 2000 days, 1151 days, when did they start that, about a year ago, making the records count?"

John Cena currently has his hands full with trouble from the Bloodline's members Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa ambushing him recently on SmackDown. It looks as if the Samoan group wants to put him out of commission once and for all and give him his final loss.
