A major WWE duo's split has been confirmed following this week's episode of RAW. The promotion is building towards WWE Night of Champions on June 28 in Saudi Arabia.

Sheamus and Drew McIntyre attempted to pitch a tag team known as The Banger Bros. However, once the company figured out that the team name was a reference to an NSFW website, it was no longer used. The Celtic Warrior took to social media to pay tribute to his former tag team and hilariously confirmed their split.

"RIP Banger Bros.. the bus stops here 🚍," he said.

Sheamus, Rusev, Bronson Reed, and a mystery star will be competing in a Fatal 4-Way match next week on the red brand to see who advances in the King of the Ring tournament. The finals of the King of the Ring tournament will take place at Night of Champions on June 28, with the winner earning a title shot at SummerSlam later this year.

Vince Russo comments on WWE's booking of Sheamus

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently suggested that Sheamus was being booked by the company due to his friendship with Triple H.

Rusev has been targeting Alpha Academy on the red brand since his WWE return earlier this year. The 47-year-old recently confronted The Bulgarian Brute, and the two stars will be in action in the King of the Ring Fatal 4-Way match next week on RAW.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast, Russo claimed that the former WWE Champion had a good relationship with Triple H, which is why he was featured in major storylines.

"Somebody [behind the scenes] is suggesting that because Sheamus is Triple H's boy. He's always been Triple H's boy. Triple H discovered Sheamus. So, if somebody throws Sheamus out there, they're getting points with Triple H. Meanwhile, people are sitting at home like, 'Yeah, we care about Sheamus?'" Russo said. [From 27:29 onwards]
