Considering how deep the WWE roster is, it isn't surprising that they have many potential World Champions waiting in line. While Teddy Long thinks highly of Shinsuke Nakamura, the Hall of Famer feels he still isn't ready to hold the World Title yet.
The Japanese star got another chance to dethrone Seth Rollins when he faced the World Heavyweight Champion at Fastlane. At the end of a phenomenal Last Man Standing match, Rollins retained once again, leaving many Nakamura fans dejected.
Teddy Long was certain that WWE would still have big plans for Shinsuke as he believed the 43-year-old star was a great wrestler he "loved to death." Long, however, explained that being a World Champion was not just about being a good worker but also about entertaining the audience.
"I think they are going to make some plans for him. He is a great guy. I love him to death, man, but I'm just saying when you look at the business side, I have nothing against him; he is a great worker. When you put that title on somebody, they are going to be able to carry it, and Nakamura, as I said, is a great wrestler, a phenomenal athlete, but sometimes, in this business, you have to be able to wrestle and entertain at the same time." Bill Apter says Shinsuke Nakamura isn't out of the WWE World Title picture yet
The World Heavyweight Championship match headlined Fastlane, and Bill Apter found it one of the best Last Man Standing bouts he's watched in WWE.
Apter, who was hoping to see Shinsuke capture the belt, stated that Rollins vs. Nakamura exceeded all fan expectations. Regarding The King of Strong Style status, the Hall of Famer journalist wasn't too worried as he reminded everyone what happened on the RAW after Fastlane.
Nakamura is still in title contention, and there is still a possibility for him to dethrone Seth Rollins down the line:
"What a match, though! One of the wildest Last Man Standing matches. It just did exceed the hype. I thought Shinsuke Nakamura was going to win the belt, but he is still; two nights afterward, on Monday Night RAW, he comes out and attacks Ricochet after Ricochet attacked him.
