1) Roman Reigns vs. Edge vs. Daniel Bryan in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship - WWE WrestleMania 37

The last entry was really a singles match with a triple threat ending for Roman Reigns. His first official three-way at the Grandest Stage of Them All went down last year.

WrestleMania 37 was the first major show for WWE to be in front of live fans in attendance since the global pandemic started.

This gave the show a special feel and offered a historic main event. The Tribal Chief was scheduled to defend the Universal Championship against the 2021 Men's Royal Rumble winner Edge, but the road to WrestleMania changed the destination.

After winning the Elimination Chamber Match, Daniel Bryan was screwed by Reigns in his first shot at the gold. A rematch at Fastlane 2021 saw Edge get involved and cost Bryan the title this time.

This set the stage for Bryan to be inserted into the WrestleMania main event for the second time in his career to make it a three-way for the title.

This was historic because all three superstars survived career-threatening injuries or illness to return to the ring. They all came in highly motivated and showed this from the start. Roman, Bryan, and Edge created a compelling spectacle that unfolded a thrilling story.

Reigns used his cousin Jey Uso to try to even the odds against his opponents. However, his two challengers fought from underneath and even had Roman trapped in a double crossface at one point. Edge brought all of his grit and was willing to do anything to win the Universal Title, while Bryan fought with fire and determination against both of his opponents.

A final distraction from Uso allowed Reigns to gain the upper hand on Edge following the Rated R Superstar taking out Bryan with a con-chair-to. Roman delivered a spear and a con-chair-to of his own to Edge. The Head of the Table then stacked both opponents on top of each other and pinned both men to win.

This visual became synonymous with Roman's historic reign. The win felt important and like a defining moment for the Tribal Chief. It was a fantastic encounter that was among the best matches of 2021 for WWE.
