Update on Drew McIntyre's WWE contract status ahead of World Title match against Seth Rollins - Reports

Drew McIntyre's future in WWE remains uncertain as he reportedly has yet to sign a new contract.

The Scottish Warrior initially joined the Stamford-based company in 2007. He had a seven-year run before getting released from his contract in June 2014. After nearly three years of absence, McIntyre returned to WWE in 2017. He has since become one of the top superstars on the roster.

McIntyre's current WWE deal was reportedly set to expire at the end of this year. Over the past few months, rumors suggested he had not reached an agreement with the company to extend his contract.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on McIntyre's situation. He noted that The Scottish Warrior will remain in the company until April 2024. However, the former WWE Champion and the company have not agreed on the new contract offer. Hence, he has not re-signed a new deal yet.

"I do not believe he's re-signed. His contract was to expire at the end of the year, but because of all the injury time accrued, it's through April. It's basically a numbers game. It's not like he's a guy who's looking to leave, it's just a numbers game. He wants a certain number and they did not offer that certain number," Meltzer said. (H/T WrestleTalk)

Drew McIntyre will challenge Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel

The Scottish Warrior recently returned to the main event picture on Monday Night RAW. He challenged Seth Rollins for a World Heavyweight Championship Match next month at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

In an interview with the Mike Jones Show, Drew McIntyre addressed his upcoming clash with The Visionary.

"I'm looking forward to, one, getting that world title match. It's the first one since Roman Reigns over a year ago, where The Bloodline screwed me out of it, and Seth, he's one of my best opponents. We have great chemistry, and we haven't had a big match or any match for a very long time. So it's pretty cool it's gonna be on such a big show," he said. (H/T WrestleZone)
