WWE Live Event Results- Dubai 14/4/2016

The Miz’s Intercontinental Championship reign continues

The results from the WWE Live Event that took place in Dubai on 14/4/2016 are in and here’s what went down at the show.

Alicia Fox opened the show and welcomed everyone to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

  • It was reported that the stadium was almost full and there was a good reaction to the event.

R-Truth defeated Bo Dallas

  • Another run of the mill match with the Social Outcasts. The group is suffering from no wins under their belt. For a glorified group of jobbers, the group has some talented individuals like Heath Slater and Curtis Axel. Bo Dallas was highly over with the NXT fans, but in WWE he has not been able to capture the audience that much.

Damien Sandow and Fandango defeated Los Matadores

  • Fandango was repeated to be very over with the fans. Considering that all the other members are fan-favorites too, WWE should book Fandango more strongly and check out how it goes. As for Los Matadores, it was reported that they made sure the match was interesting with their high-flying offense.

WWE United States Champion Kalisto defeated Ryback to retain.

  • In a WrestleMania rematch, Kalisto faced Ryback for the United States Championship. It was reported that the crowd was very into this match and Kalisto was exciting to watch. Looks like Kalisto’s injury at Raw was just a storyline injury. It was good to know that another superstar has not joined the injured list.

AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens.

  • The reports state that Owens was a true heel here. His entertaining antics was very over with the Dubai crowd and the in-ring psychology both competitors exhibited was great. AJ Styles also got a great response and it was reported that he posed with fans after the match.

Goldust defeated Heath Slater

  • It was reported to be a quick match. The Social Outcasts attacked Golddust after the match but R-Truth made the save. The ongoing formation of Golden Truth has been dragged for too long. WWE should do something sooner before the audience lose their patience with the duo’s antics.

Big Show defeated Alberto Del Rio with a KO punch

  • A strong showing of Big Show here. It was a David vs Goliath match in true sense, except here the David was the heel.

WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz retained over Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose in a Fatal 4 Way match

  • The championships never change hands in a Live Event. And hence, no surprise on how the result turned out. It was reported that there were lot of “Ole!” fanatics in the crowd. Sami Zayn reportedly had a strong showing here. The Miz stole yet another victory to generate some heat.
  • As a result, he ended up eating all the finishers from the other faces in the match after it was over. The faces celebrated to close the show. It was reported that Ziggler even brought in a UAE flag to play to the crowd.
