WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: August 25, 2014

It is always hard to follow a show like SummerSlam because it was that damn good. However, WWE did the job well thanks to some highly accelerated feuds present all across the roster.Interestingly not many new feuds were born on the Road to Night of Champions which meant that the fans would be seeing repetitions of SummerSlam encounters once again.Brock Lesnars title reign caught a lot of main stream attention but as far as the regular WWE fan base was concerned, it was Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose that had the limelight.Despite being a well rooted week, there were many questions left unanswered by the WWE creative team and all of that will have to be solved this week at the Honda Center in Anaheim. So here is a look at what all the fans could expect from the latest edition of Monday Night Raw.

#5 Legends Assemble

All those fans that are dying to get some nostalgic pleasure would be served this week on Monday as WWE confirmed the appearance of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels.

There is no news on how they would be used, but many expect the trio to make a big impact in some major angle. The reason why WWE is bringing back these three for one night is to compete with the Emmy awards which will be running simultaneously.

WWE obviously if afraid about losing their viewer to the Award show and is relying heavily on the past since Brock Lesnar is most likely to give a miss this week.

Seeing the Heart Break Kid between the ropes is a good thing on any day and if he rubs feathers with the lights of Seth Rollins or Bray Wyatt, thing would only get better.

#4 Crazy chaos

If the WWE divas division had to be defined using one word then a majority of the fans would point out ‘crazy’. It is not that the entire division is crazy, but the current flag bearers Paige and AJ Lee are on a race to prove who is more twisted.

The title has been see-sawing between the two for some time now which has kept the heat high for this storyline.

Both Paige and AJ possess some excellent mic skills and though the Divas Champion was a bit off during the initial stage, she has improved her acting skills to stand toe to toe with AJ.

Last week AJ cost Paige two matches against Natalya and this week might also have some timely interference or something crazier between these two. Natalya getting involved in the feud is another possibility as she is the automatic No.1 contender after defeating Paige.

#3 Pick the Poison

The tag team division failed to find a spot in the SummerSlam match card due to one reason or the other. Almost all the teams in the roster were given a consolation with matches on the Raw that followed but WWE made no clear strides on the title scenario.

Goldust and Stardust got a win over the Usos which makes them eligible while Big Show and Mark Henry also deserve a title shot. However, Henry’s angle with Rusev looked promising which leaves another big question mark.

Wyatt Family and Rybaxel also will be in the mix this week with Slator Gator being the outsiders. A fatal four way tag team match for the championship would sit well with the fans any day and WWE should think about pulling off something similar at Night of Champions.

#2 Missing Lunatic

Ambrose getting his head bashed into the cinder blocks was the top moment that came out of last week’s Raw. The match that he had with Rollins prior to that was brilliant to the core as once again the duo proved that other storylines are miles away.

Instead of getting medical attention, Ambrose ran away after the attack and was reported to be missing by the WWE. Many believe that he is being taken out of television to film his movie project but it is yet to be confirmed.

This means that there are chances of the Lunatic Fringe making an appearance this week at the Honda Center.

And when he does, Rollins will have a lot of work covering his back while the involvement of Kane is another dimension to the feud.

#1 Cenas answer

Cena might’ve secured a rematch against Brock Lesnar at the Night of Champions, but the fans were not given a chance to cast eyes on the battered warrior last week in Las Vegas.

Lesnar came, he took the new title and Paul Heyman did the usual while Cena was nowhere to be seen. WWE did a good job of piling up praises on the Cenation leader despite his absence and he could use that as a platform when he appears this week.

It would be interesting to see whether the creative team would stick with the same old Cena that we all know or go along with something new, something darker.

The latter suggestion would be a best for business move heading for Night of Champion as it would break the walls of conventional booking that Cena got for the past decade.
