It seems like WWE has changed back SmackDown Live Superstar Rowan's name to Erick Rowan. Rowan's Superstar Stats page on WWE's official website now displays his name as Erick Rowan.

Rowan's journey so far...

Rowan debuted on the main roster back in 2013, as a part of The Wyatt Family. He was featured in a string of high-profile matches during his Wyatt Family stint, with the most notable one being the family's 6-man tag wars against The Shield, consisting of future megastars, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose.

Rowan was defeated by The Rock at WrestleMania 32 in a matter of seconds, following which The Rock and John Cena fended off The Wyatt Family. On April 10, 2017, Bray Wyatt was moved to Monday Night Raw during the Superstar Shakeup, leading to The Wyatt Family getting disbanded. A short rivalry between Rowan and Luke Harper culminated in a match at Backlash, with Harper picking up the win over Rowan.

The October 10, 2017 episode of SmackDown Live saw Rowan and Luke Harper team up and form The Bludgeon Brothers. Erick Rowan's name was soon shortened to Rowan.

The name change

Rowan later formed an alliance with Daniel Bryan, helping him retain his WWE title against AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble PPV earlier this year. Currently, he is a part of a major ongoing storyline on the blue brand, which also features Roman Reigns.

Rowan was announced as Erick Rowan on the latest episode of SmackDown Live. His Superstar Stats page has also been updated and his name is listed as Erick Rowan. There's no news yet as to why Rowan's name was changed back to what it once was. Stay tuned for more updates on this name change.
