What's the story?
Bret Hart's attacker, Zachary Madsen has been released on a bail of $1500 and is due to appear in a Kings County Criminal Courtroom on April 12th.
If found guilty, Madsen will face up to 1 year in jail for each count of assault.

While Bret "The Hitman" Hart was in the midst of his WWE Hall of Fame induction speech, a fan jumped into the ring with the intention of attacking the Hitman.
Fortunately, before the fan could cause any serious damage, he was restrained by wrestlers and security, and taken away out of public sight. The Revival's Dash Wilder managed to land a punch on the attacker's face while he was being taken away.
The heart of the matter
Madsen was charged with one count of 3rd degree criminal trespassing, two counts of 3rd degree assault, and interfering in a sports event. WWE was quick to issue a statement on the incident.
An over-exuberant fan surpassed our security at ringside and made his way briefly into the ring. The individual has been turned over to the proper authorities.
WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman went on to bash the attacker on his podcast with a barrage of profanities, and gave his opinion on why the fan might have attacked Hart.

When asked why did he attack the Hall of Famer, Madsen simple stated that "it was the right time". Madsen was recently out on a bail of $1500, but is set to appear in court today. Also, if Madsen is found guilty, he could face up to 1 year in jail for each count. It's worth noting that one of WWE's security personnel, Thaddeus Jones, suffered minor injuries during the attack.
