WWE RAW Preview: 4th February 2019

A grand invitation!
A grand invitation!

We're now on the second RAW after Royal Rumble and what a stacked episode it's going to be. The fallout of last week's Rumble saw the two main directions for WrestleMania 35 crystal clear.

Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar was made official after RAW, while Becky Lynch, the Women's Royal Rumble winner needed no time to decide which champion she wanted to choose. The SmackDown star appeared on RAW and made a big statement.

The opening of RAW saw Seth Rollins put away old rival Dean Ambrose with relative ease. Ambrose was then thrown out of the ring by Nia Jax, and we know exactly what announcement he was set to make.

Meanwhile, WWE took no time in starting the build to Elimination Chamber. The Women's tag team title match has already begun to take shape on both RAW and SmackDown Live. Kurt Angle too, was defeated with relative ease while new feuds started off. Without going into full recap mode, let's take a look at what's ahead for tonight!

#8. Finn Balor looks to get one over Bobby Lashley

Last week, Finn Balor came out to address his unsuccessful attempt at Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship. He clearly had a lot to say, but Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley interfered and made a statement of his own.

He attacked Balor and sent him crashing. This week, Balor has a chance at redemption when he takes on Bobby Lashley in a non-title match. While we don't understand the decision to not put the title on the line, a win for Balor would undoubtedly get him a title shot in the near future.

What better stage for that than the Elimination Chamber? Expect Balor to pull off the big win despite Lio Rush's interference attempts and earn a future title shot.

#7. Kurt Angle addresses his WWE future

It hasn't been a good few months for Kurt Angle. He had Baron Corbin appointed as Constable, and The Lone Wolfe sabotaged him and made his life as General Manager a living hell. Angle was then sent on an indefinite vacation.

He came back for an attempt at the WWE World Cup, but was eliminated in round one. He was humiliated by Drew McIntyre and then also defeated by Baron Corbin last week. In a big slump now, Angle doesn't have his General Manager role anymore nor is he anywhere close to the main event picture.

Being in a state of limbo, Kurt Angle is set to make a big announcement about his WWE future. Could he be retiring?

Or worse, could he be teasing a retirement and end up faking it similar to Mark Henry? He could even form a new alliance that we may not expect.

#6. What's next for Dean Ambrose?

“Do you need to ask permission from your father-in-law to make this match?” Ambrose asks.

The Dean Ambrose situation has really been something, hasn't it? After being effectively removed from the Intercontinental Championship picture, The Moral Compass of WWE faced old rival Seth Rollins on RAW the night after, only to be put away in quick fashion.

However, prior to the defeat, Ambrose had some choice words for Triple H, and the two had a tense confrontation, albeit momentarily. He was then taken out by Nia Jax after his loss to Seth Rollins, and the following day, PWTorch reported that Ambrose was done with WWE.

WWE themselves confirmed this not long after, revealing that Dean Ambrose has not agreed to re-sign with the company after his contract expires post-WrestleMania 35. With hardly two months remaining on his contract, what will Dean Ambrose do to make an impact? Knowing The Lunatic Fringe, he could undergo another major character change and turn face, beginning a feud with The Game.

#5. Will Braun Strowman get retribution?

WWE Photo

Surprise! Surprise! As Braun Strowman was gaining momentum in his match against Drew McIntyre, The Scottish Psychopath's old ally Baron Corbin came to his rescue and assaulted Strowman.

With Strowman outnumbered, will he seek help to take out the duo who has been on his back for months now, or will he choose to go at it alone? One thing is for sure - Strowman isn't going to sit back silently!

#4. Double J returns to action on RAW after 20 years

Double J Jeff Jarrett returns to RAW in-ring action for the first time in 20 years, as he takes on The Living Truth Elias. Elias hasn't really gotten along with Double J nor Road Dogg, who will be cornering the WWE Hall of Famer.

Will Double J get retribution for having a guitar smashed on his back twice, or will he once again face the wrath of Elias?

#3. The Boss N' Hug connection look to secure the final chamber spot

It was announced last week that there's only one spot on the RAW side for the Women's Tag Team Elimination Chamber match. Sasha Banks and Bayley, both coming off unsuccessful attempts against Ronda Rousey, will look to defeat the odd (and crazy!) team of Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross.

Given that the other two haven't really teamed up before, this should be an easy win for Banks and Bayley. In fact, they're even the favourites to win the chamber match, and they haven't really qualified yet.

Both superstars are likely frustrated at the thought of losing to Rousey on back-to-back nights, so it'll be interesting to see how they bounce back. We've seen time and again that the two gel perfectly well as a tag team, so it's very unlikely that they're going to lose their match on RAW.

#2. Will Seth Rollins confront Brock Lesnar?

WWE Photo

Last week, Seth Rollins admitted that making his choice as to which champion he wanted to face at WrestleMania 35 was no easy task. He was given the whole show to answer, and he took his time.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan and his new ally Rowan were backstage as well, ready to potentially answer Seth Rollins if he chose them. However, even before Rollins could make his decision, Brock Lesnar came out.

Seth Rollins then went to confront him and with no surprise, things went from 0 to 100 really fast. Lesnar decimated Rollins, potentially even injuring him in the process. However, Rollins has two months left for the big date, and it is official now - Seth Rollins will take on Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Will The Kingslayer look to call out The Beast Incarnate? Is it even a wise idea to do so?

#1. Stephanie McMahon invites Becky Lynch to RAW

En

This was a confrontation you probably didn't expect to happen. We wouldn't call it a "confrontation" as much as an "invitation", but in WWE, we know how things go downhill very quickly.

Stephanie McMahon herself has invited The Man Becky Lynch to come to RAW again. As we saw last week, the Royal Rumble winner took no time in deciding who she wanted to face. After Bayley's great effort against Ronda Rousey, Lynch came out and confronted the RAW Women's Champion.

She stated her intentions to face Rousey at WrestleMania and the match is now official. Becky Lynch and Stephanie McMahon could very well get into an altercation. One thing is for sure, the current Becky Lynch will not take jabs from Stephanie McMahon and let herself be walked over.

Of course, it'll be interesting to see where Ronda Rousey factors into all of this. She's definitely going to make her presence known.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
