Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns after SummerSlam
We are still a few days away from SummerSlam and rumours about the feuds after the pay-per-view are popping up. There are several other rumours as well about what WWE plans after the pay-per-view on 11th August, but the one that has caught everyone's eye is Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns.
Local advertisements suggest that the two are set to be involved in a feud for some time. Matches between them have been advertised for several live events in September as per reports.
Bryan and Reigns are reportedly set to face off on back-to-back days for Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live at Madison Square Garden in September. They are also scheduled to compete in a match at the WWE live event in Prescott Valley, Arizona on September 28th.
It looks like WWE will be showing Bryan as the one who attacked Reigns at the end of SmackDown Live this week. The former WWE Universal Champion saw a scaffolding fall on him as he made his way for a backstage interview.
The Rock praises Drew McIntyre
The Rock was talking to TMZ when he was asked about who could become the next big thing in WWE. The People's Champ named Drew McIntyre and heaped praise on him:
Personally I like Drew McIntyre. I think he's got a great look and a great build, and especially as he continues to hone in on his craft and connect with the audience, which is always the most important thing.
The Scottish Psychopath took to Twitter to respond to The Rock's statement and said:
In all the conversation about the biggest movie of the Summer, I appreciate such high praise from The Great One. We could all learn a thing or two from his work ethic, “All it takes is all you got”.
Braun Strowman picks dream WrestleMania opponent
The Rock heaped praise on Drew McIntyre, but he's not the only one to do so. Braun Strowman has also acknowledged the work put in by the Scottish Psychopath and named him as the opponent he wants to main-event WrestleMania with.
The Monster Among Men was talking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated when he said:
"I will main event WrestleMania. Hopefully more than once on my way to a Hall of Fame career. I'll start with a main event against Drew McIntyre, and I'll tell you who will win: me."
Right now, it doesn't look like Strowman would be in the main event of WrestleMania next year but there is a good chance of McIntyre being in it.
However, Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue reported last month that Braun was in line for another major push and if that happens, then his chances of main eventing WrestleMania go up once again.
Fandango returns to NXT
Fandango has returned to WWE NXT – almost 7 years after he was promoted to the main roster. He made the surprise return last night to save his former tag-team partner, Tyler Breeze.
Breeze picked up the win against Jaxson Ryker on NXT but was attacked by the members of The Forgotten Sons after the match. While the trio was attacking Breeze, Fandango made his way to the ring and saved his former tag-team partner by clearing the ring.
It looks like they will be back together as a team, this time in NXT, and will face The Forgotten Sons soon.
WWE cancel Evolution pay-per-view
Last year, WWE hosted the first-ever all-women's pay-per-view, WWE Evolution, and it was a grand success. However, Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there won't be a second edition of the PPV.
They report that the absence of Ronda Rousey is the main reason why they are not going ahead with it. They believe she was the crowd puller, and as she is on a break, they are not going forward with the PPV this year.
