In today's rumor roundup, we take a look at some of the top stories from WWE. CM Punk has hinted that one WWE Superstar has been begging him for a match at WrestleMania while Bret Hart has deemed one of the current champions the most unprofessional wrestler ever.

A former WWE Champion has claimed that he is in talks to return but that has been squashed by a source within the company. All that and more in today's WWE Rumor Roundup:

Big WrestleMania match canceled?

There has been one big change made to WrestleMania this year with the location switched from the Raymond James Stadium, Tampa to the Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida. The change has been forced upon WWE due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

However, that does not seem to be the only change WWE has made to the show of shows. WrestleVotes report that a mixed tag-team match might be nixed by the company. They report that the Heavy Machinery and Mandy Rose were set to take on Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode and Sonya Deville at WrestleMania this year.

As the pay-per-view is set to go ahead without the fans, the match could be canceled. WrestleVotes claim that the company is nixing it as it won't work without a crowd present.

Edge considered retirement

Edge has revealed that Beth Phoenix returned to Monday Night RAW two weeks ago to announce his retirement. The Rated-R Superstar claims that she was not in the ring to give a medical update but to inform the WWE Universe that he was not going to get into the ring again.

However, Randy Orton stopped her before she could deliver the news and things have changed since then. Edge has now challenged Orton to a Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania.

Bret Hart recalls knocking Vince McMahon out

Bret Hart's match against Shawn Michaels in Montreal ended in a way no one could have ever imagined. However, what happened backstage was even more shocking for those who knew about the incident.

Bret Hart revealed that he completely knocked out Vince McMahon after the two met backstage. The 2-time Hall of Famer was not happy that he had just been forced to lose to Michaels and things did not end well for the WWE Chairman.

Hart was talking to Stone Cold Steve Austin on the Broken Skull Sessions when he claimed that things got heated backstage. Going into the match, Hart was told he was retaining the title but all that changed without him knowing.

“Then I remember sitting there in the dressing room. Everyone’s just sitting there. We’re all looking and it’s like stunned, including me, I’m going, ‘I can’t believe I just knocked out Vince McMahon. I would’ve done anything for this guy.’”

However, all that is a thing of the past and the two men are on way better terms now.

Bret Hart calls Goldberg the most unprofessional wrestler

Bret Hart has labelled Bill Goldberg the most unprofessional wrestler in WWE. Bret was talking to Stone Cold Steve Austin on the Broken Skull Sessions when he revealed that the current WWE Universal Champion has hurt everyone he's worked with.

"I just wish some of the wrestlers I worked with, especially in the end, like Goldberg... Goldberg, to me, was one of the most unprofessional wrestlers there was in the business. He hurt everyone he ever worked with. You might as well wrestle a real gorilla. He was the most dangerous guy to work with, he hurt everyone he worked with."
"Even when I worked with Bill, the last thing I said to Bill before we went out to have that match that ended my career - I said, ‘Bill, whatever you do out there, don't hurt me.'"

Hart admitted that he was a stiff worker but claimed that he also took care of the other Superstar in the ring. Unfortunately for Hart, he was forced to retire after a match against Goldberg back in WCW.

Alberto Del Rio claims he is returning to WWE; Company deny rumours

Alberto Del Rio has shockingly claimed that he is in talks to return to WWE this year. The former WWE Champion explained that he is hoping to reach an agreement with the company soon and could make his shock comeback later this year.

“We have been in communication. We have rebuilt the bridge. On their part, they were wrong on some decisions and I also did some things wrong on my part. I am hoping that we can reach an agreement sometime this year or by the middle of this year I’ll be back there.” [H/T WrestlingNews]

WWE sources, however, have told Fightful that there is no such agreement in place. They have straight out denied that Del Rio is close to returning to the WWE and that there is no truth in the statements made by the former champion.

Del Rio has already had two stints in the company, neither of which ended positively. He was first released in 2014 for unprofessional conduct after hitting a member of the backstage staff. He was brought back in 2015 but did not last long and was released in 2016.

CM Punk 'begged' to have a match at WrestleMania?

CM Punk has hinted that a WWE Superstar or official has been begging him to return to the ring. The former WWE Champion has claimed that someone has been texting him to have a match at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania was supposed to take place at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida but due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it has been shifted to the WWE Performance Centre. Punk, sarcastically commenting on the same, was asked by a fan if he was begging for a return.

Seth Rollins is the name being thrown around as he had taken shots at Punk constantly in the recent past. The former Universal Champion, however, has a match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 36 which was just confirmed last night.

CM Punk was challenged to a match by Seth Rollins once he had made his return to the WWE scene. However, Punk only works for FOX Network on WWE Backstage and is not, in any way, on the WWE payroll right now.
