WWE SmackDown could have been better. There were so many obvious flaws during the show that could have been handled in a better manner, to make everything more palatable to fans.
However, when all was said and done, WWE SmackDown was certainly a much easier watch than RAW this week. A show that secured record low ratings, filled with lame (no pun intended) crutch fighting, sword stealing, and storytime with uncle Drew angles. Yes, there were logical flaws during this show as well, but it did seem like some thought did go into everything.
For a show to be more enjoyable than RAW is certainly a very low benchmark but yes, WWE SmackDown was that and more. So let's look at what worked and what did not in this week's 'best and worst' article.

#3 Best/Worst: WWE SmackDown star Cesaro loses when it matters one more time
They desperately needed a heel in the Money in the Bank ladder match because Big E, Kevin Owens, and Shinsuke Nakamura are all strong babyfaces. Throw in Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, and Riddle, and you have far too many babyfaces.
So, Seth Rollins winning this big WWE SmackDown Money in the Bank qualifier match was probably the right call, in this instance. That said, did it have to happen against Cesaro, who's yet again on the verge of greatness but not quite there? Couldn't he have defeated some other babyface and gotten this opportunity instead?
Hopefully, Cesaro can rebound in a big way and bounce back once again. Let's pray, if you believe in that sort of thing, that he doesn't slide down the ranks again.
#2 Best: 3 Major WWE SmackDown debuts
Yes, their WWE SmackDown arrivals have messed up a lot of NXT plans but honestly, that's a story for another article. Toni Storm, Shotzi and Tegan are all a part of the roster now, and this was a much-needed boost. The division is skeleton thin after the departure of Billie Kay, Ruby Riott and Bayley's unfortunate injury.
Toni Storm in particular looked like a star in the package that aired on WWE SmackDown this week.
Tegan and Shotzi pinning the Champions this week was a great first impression, so it can't really be called a 'worst' in this case!
#2 Worst: Why doesn't Baron Corbin have music?
As can be gauged from the reaction on social media, people are upset that Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura happened YET AGAIN!
Here's the thing. WWE tried to gain sympathy for Baron Corbin by having him come out with no music. But logically, it makes no sense at all for something of this nature to happen. Isn't WWE, the company, providing music?
Maybe the announcers could have made up a story about Corbin missing a royalty payment or something similar!

It's time to focus on the show again. Listen, the fact that Jey Uso is back just adds a LOT of depth to WWE SmackDown. The fact that Edge, Rey Mysterio, and Dominik are part of the same squad allied against the Samoan dynasty just makes things very interesting indeed.
#1 Worst: Lack of logic in the Sonya Deville segment
Can we address the fact that Sonya Deville made it seem like Liv Morgan would not get her opportunity for weeks on end and then just gave her a Money in the Bank 2021 opportunity?
Yes, plans were foiled when Bayley was injured, but WWE SmackDown had something to do with making Liv Morgan seem like a deserving contender who wasn't getting her due thanks to Daddy Deville! Why would you ruin such an interesting storyline?
