WWE SmackDown Preview: Roman Reigns’ actual plans for Jey Uso, brutal attack on champion? (Nov 27th, 2020)

A lot can happen on WWE SmackDown this week

After a decent pay-per-view in the form of Survivor Series, we are all set for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. While most of the champions from the Blue brand picked a victory at the pay-per-view, the brand ended up losing both the women’s and men’s five-on-five traditional Survivor Series matches. In addition to that, we saw top Superstar Seth Rollins unexpectedly sacrificing himself.

The Messiah’s decision has been widely linked with a possible paternity leave, and he might not make an appearance for a few weeks. Sasha Banks managed to beat Asuka and truthfully, the main event of the pay-per-view featuring Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre saved Survivor Series. But the conflict surrounding Reigns' character and his relationship with Jey Uso has reached a new height.

In this article, we will take a look at the event that can transpire on WWE SmackDown this week. So, without further ado, let’ begin.

#5 Roman Reigns and Jey Uso clear the air on WWE SmackDown

At Survivor Series 2020, Roman Reigns went from disowning Jey Uso to accepting his cousin within the entire duration of the pay-per-view. At first, The Tribal Chief was angry that Jey Uso couldn’t lead WWE SmackDown to a victory in the five-on-five traditional Survivor Series elimination match. He believed that Uso has failed to strike fear among the hearts of his teammates.

However, Jey Uso’s interference in the main event caused The Tribal Chief to change his mind. The latter was struggling in his match against Drew McIntyre when he seized an opportunity to hit the WWE Champion with a low blow. Following that, Jey Uso hit McIntyre with a Superkick that ultimately helped Reigns in picking a huge victory for WWE SmackDown.

Following that, we saw both brothers hugging as they walked back on the ramp. This has led many into believing that Roman Reigns isn’t really fond of Jey Uso and is only using him to assert more dominance on the Blue brand. However, tonight on WWE SmackDown, he is expected to address his relationship with Jey Uso and give us more clarification on the subject.

Roman Reigns will also look to take on new challengers for his Universal Championship. Given the recent history of his title reign, he is expected to retain his gold against all odds, but a few interesting feuds will make his championship all the more interesting. It will be exciting to see which WWE SmackDown Superstar will step up to challenge Roman Reigns for his title in the coming weeks.

#4 Sasha Banks is attacked once again on WWE SmackDown?

A few weeks ago, Sasha Banks successfully defended her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley. However, her celebration was cut short after she was attacked by returning Superstar, Carmella. The latter has continued to attack Banks in the weeks that followed, and both these Superstars are expected to engage in a title feud on WWE SmackDown.

Their last few exchanges have led to Sasha Banks taking punishment from Carmella, but this time, Banks is expected to be prepared for the attack. The champion was blindsided for weeks, and that might change on WWE SmackDown this week. After defeating Asuka at Survivor Series, a confident Banks might call out Carmella for a confrontation tonight, but it could still lead to an attack on the champion.

Even though Banks is not expected to lose her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship just yet, she will benefit from a good feud against Carmella. Moreover, the latter’s exciting return to the Blue brand coupled with her rivalry with the champion will solidify her position on the roster – something that the SmackDown brand desperately needs right now.

#3 Big E returns to action on WWE SmackDown

It has been a while since we have seen Big E in action. He was expected to be a part of the five-man team that represented WWE SmackDown at Survivor Series 2020, but that didn’t happen. Although he did make an appearance during the pay-per-view, his role was restricted to accompanying Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in their match against The Street Profits.

Big E is expected to return to in-ring action on WWE SmackDown tonight. It would be good to see him demand answers as to why he was snubbed from the Survivor Series match. That can account for a good reason to keep him motivated to run rampage through the SmackDown roster. It will be interesting to see what the creative have planned for Big E after his huge split from The New Day.

Earlier, there were a few backstage reports which suggested Big E will soon find himself in a title picture on WWE SmackDown. He is on a convincing run, and if the creative want to put the gold on him, this would be the perfect time. Even if he is not going to be a champion right now; Big E can certainly be involved in a couple of good title feuds before Royal Rumble 2021.

#2 What’s next for The Street Profits on WWE SmackDown?

At Survivor Series 2020, The Street Profits defeated The New Day to pick the biggest victory of their career. This win allowed the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions to assert their dominance. Moreover, the match proved why they are two of the best performers in WWE today. Now that they have picked such a great win for WWE SmackDown, it will be interesting to see what’s in store for the champions on the Blue brand.

If anything, WWE SmackDown needs to book them in a series of great title feuds on the Blue brand. They have had a good run with the gold on the Blue brand so far, and better title defenses will only help them get a much-deserved push in WWE. While there are a few creative options for WWE to explore, they have to make sure that The Street Profits are involved in storylines that will bring out the best in them.

So far Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford have engaged in feuds that included, banter, poison, respect, and sometimes all three of them. However, none of their rivalries have involved extremely personal aspects of both Superstars. Thus, it would be better if they are involved in something that hits closer to home on WWE SmackDown in the coming months.

#1 Sami Zayn’s next challenger for WWE SmackDown

Sami Zayn might have to put his title on the line soon

Sami Zayn was the only singles champion from WWE SmackDown who lost at Survivor Series. That said, the Intercontinental Champion had a good match against Bobby Lashley. But following the pay-per-view, it now appears that his title run on the Blue brand might be coming to an end. The question remains who would challenge Sami Zayn for the gold on WWE SmackDown?

In the last couple of weeks, we have seen him engage in a backstage altercation with Daniel Bryan. The latter recently returned to the Blue brand and also avenged the brutal beatdown at the hands of Jey Uso. Now that Bryan is done with that attack, he might actually turn his attention towards Zayn’s IC title.

Apart from Bryan, we can also see someone like Big E go after Zayn’s Championship on WWE SmackDown. A good title rivalry will help both these Superstars on the Blue brand and might help Big E in exploring his potential as a singles champion. Moreover, this will help build-up his character on WWE SmackDown before he eventually faces Jey Uso or Roman Reigns.
