WWE SummerSlam 2019: 5 Mistakes WWE should not make- Title change, Big upset

These are things that WWE shouldn't even think of doing!
These are things that WWE shouldn't even think of doing!

SummerSlam 2019 is almost upon us and the card is a mixed bag of strong and not-so-strong matches as it always is. With Heyman and Bischoff firmly in control of the product, it does seem like the future is in safe hands.

But there are certain mistakes that should be avoided at SummerSlam at all costs, and I shall elaborate on them in this very article. Be sure to let me know your thoughts and views in the comments section below.

These are 5 mistakes that WWE should avoid making at SummerSlam this year. Without further ado let me dive straight into the said list.

And at number 5, we have the following entry...

#5 Having Sami Zayn defeat Aleister Black

While this match has not been officially confirmed yet, I think it's almost a certainty that Sami Zayn will face Aleister Black in his second main roster match since he received his big singles push. The first encounter was against Cesaro and that was a really exciting match where the two men took each other to the limit and put on a very exciting clash for fans of sports entertainment.

As much as I think Sami Zayn is underrated and a true gem in the roster, this should be Aleister Black's night, I believe. He is the hot new commodity, has the cooler gimmick and should be portrayed as invincible so that a lot of the audience is invested in the man and his gimmick. Black has the potential to elevate the Intercontinental Championship, putting on great matches with the likes of Nakamura, if he's allowed to excel.

Zayn will bounce back into the mix as he always seems to do. Black needs the win more than he does.

#4 Having Finn Balor come out as 'The Demon King' to defeat Bray Wyatt

Let's be clear about something right at the start. Bray Wyatt is the most intriguing thing about WWE at the moment, and there is no way that he should eat a pin at SummerSlam. There is no doubt in my mind that he should go over Finn Balor.

Which is why Balor should show up as plain old Finn Balor and not The Demon King when the two men square off at SummerSlam this time. Not only will this mean that either The Fiend or the Demon King has to lose the match, it will also signal the end of the feud. It is confirmed that Balor will take a leave of absence after SummerSlam, and this may be a great way to prolong the feud.

Balor could return around Survivor Series for revenge against The Fiend. This could result in a WrestleMania 36 match between The Demon King and The Fiend.

#3 Not have Braun Strowman in the card at all

Braun Strowman is one of those superstars who would have fared well in every era of WWE. It is just baffling that he cannot find his way to the SummerSlam card when he looks like he does and is as over as he is!

While he is not currently advertised for a match, I really do think that they should have him do something in the card. Maybe when the winner of the Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar match stands tall, Strowman can go and knock him down.

Lashley and Strowman tore it up at Extreme Rules in what many believed to be the match of the night. Strowman's fury and intensity since that day have dissipated because he hasn't been in a featured feud ever since.

You just cannot leave the Monster Among Men off the second biggest show of the year, and this is certainly a no-brainer.

#2 Make Natalya the RAW Women's Champion

I do not mean this as a knock on Natalya at all. She is one of the best in-ring performers in the roster, and she excels every time the bell rings, in my honest opinion. It's just that Becky Lynch is the hottest thing in the women's division in some time, even if she hasn't been red hot for a while now.

Having Natalya become the RAW Women's Champion will just suck all of the excitement out of the title picture because the spotlight is firmly on Becky Lynch at the moment. Lynch is on the cover of WWE 2K20 alongside Roman Reigns becoming the first-ever woman to be on the cover of a 2k Game. Natalya does not even have a storyline she's involved in, right now.

No, Becky Lynch has not had the same level of momentum she did before WrestleMania. But she's still 'The Man!'

#1 Have Trish Stratus defeat Charlotte Flair clean

I know that a lot of you may be thinking that having Trish Stratus win this match may not be such a bad idea overall. I think this is possibly the worst thing that could potentially happen on this show, and here's why I personally believe so.

Mind you, this match will happen at the expense of an Intercontinental Championship match if rumors to be believed. As the RAW Reunion episode proved recently, it is the old-timers who're getting the ratings, and therefore, it is necessary for WWE to have Flair go over Stratus, to have the torch passed to her.

Sure, it will get a huge pop from the Canadian crowd in attendance. Not a lot of people like Charlotte Flair's character (which actually means she's doing a good job).

But it's in WWE's best interests to have Trish Stratus tap out.
