WWE SummerSlam 2021 is set to be a thrilling pay-per-view event which could feature the return of several big names to WWE. The company will return to a touring schedule later this month and will have crowds for all pay-per-views and weekly shows starting this month.

WWE has made several changes lately, releasing several main roster stars as well as backroom personnel. These budget cuts could perhaps be to bring back some part-time performers ahead of SummerSlam 2021.

We could see some dream matches at The Biggest Party Of The Summer, which will take place in August. Let's take a look at five dream matches that should happen at Summerslam 2021:

#5 Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021

It's interesting to see how both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, who both spent many years as babyfaces, are now leading heels on WWE television. Rollins and Reigns have feuded in the past, but The Tribal Chief has never been the heel in their previous encounters.

The two teased a potential feud on SmackDown last month when Seth Rollins was furious after The Usos cost him a Universal title opportunity. The backstage interaction between Reigns and Rollins didn't lead to anything, but might have sown the seeds for a future clash.

If another feud between the two happens, Rollins will most likely turn babyface and begin a rivalry with his former Shield brother. The Tribal Chief is rumored to face a WWE legend at SummerSlam 2021, which will be discussed later in this article. If that match doesn't happen, this is the next best alternative for Roman Reigns and WWE.

SummerSlam 2021 could also be the place where The Usos and Reigns finally part ways. Perhaps the brothers could cost their cousin the match too. A finish like that would surprise the audience without hurting Reigns' current dominance.

#4 Edge vs Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2021

Seth Rollins could have another dream match at SummerSlam 2021, where he could face WWE Hall of Famer Edge. The Rated-R Superstar hasn't been on WWE television since WrestleMania, but he is set to return to SmackDown next week, meaning he will be available on the road to SummerSlam 2021.

In a recent appearance on Talking Smack, Paul Heyman discussed Edge, about whom Rollins said:

"Who? What? I think he’s hiding out on some mountain somewhere in North Carolina, petting his dogs or something like that [laughs]."

A few months after Edge's return at last year's Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins opened up about his desire to face the Rated-R Superstar.

Rollins and Edge have had a few interactions in the past in WWE. Most recently, at this year's Royal Rumble, Edge eliminated Rollins from the men's Royal Rumble match. Rollins also humiliated Edge back in 2014 when the former was a part of The Authority.

That would be a good start to their story on SmackDown, which could eventually result in a match at SummerSlam 2021.

Edge has also spoken about a potential match with Seth Rollins in the past. This is a feud that has to happen and the current characters of these two Superstars make it a perfect match, perhaps for SummerSlam 2021.

#3 Becky Lynch vs Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam 2021

Heading into SummerSlam 2021, which is just two months away, WWE's women's division is the thinnest it has been in years. WWE has let go of several Superstars over the last year, resulting in the WWE SmackDown roster having just 9 women Superstars.

The RAW women's roster is slightly better, but the feuds have become repetitive, especially for the RAW Women's title. WWE needs new faces, and perhaps the return of Becky Lynch, their biggest star.

Lynch, who took time off to due to her pregnancy, has been away for over a year. Recent photos of her training, as well as Nick Khan's comments earlier this year about her return, imply that she could be back by the end of 2021.

SummerSlam 2021 could be the perfect place for her to make her in-ring return. It was at SummerSlam in 2018 where she gained momentum - and fan backing - and it was there that her 'The Man' character was formed.

Lynch, if she returns before SummerSlam 2021, will probably go straight into a feud with RAW Women's Champion Rhea Ripley and win back the title she relinquished a year ago.

Becky Lynch vs Rhea Ripley is a mouth-watering clash between two fantastic in-ring performers, and could be the start of a great rivalry.

#2 John Cena vs Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021

The big rumor heading into SummerSlam 2021 is that 16-time world champion John Cena might be returning to WWE. The WWE Universe hasn't seen Cena since he featured in last year's Firefly Fun House match with Bray Wyatt.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer recently reported that John Cena has been in talks to appear on a SmackDown show in July, just weeks before SummerSlam 2021. This could eventually set up a match between Cena and the current Universal Champion, Roman Reigns:

"The leading rumor is Roman Reigns vs. John Cena for the Universal title. We do know that as of last week they were in talks with Cena, that were not finalized, to appear on the 7/16 Smackdown show in Houston," Meltzer explained.

Reigns and Cena have feuded in the past, but a feud between the two now would be entirely different. The Tribal Chief's current character is one that has captured the imagination of the WWE Universe, and will likely complement Cena's babyface character.

There's a lot of history between the two which could be incorporated in this storyline. A match between Roman Reigns and John Cena could very well headline SummerSlam 2021.

#1 Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam 2021

SummerSlam 2021 could be where the dream match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley takes place. This is a dream match that has been in the making for years. Many consider Lashley to be one of the Superstars who can convincingly match up with The Beast Incarnate.

Lashley has been a revelation in 2021 and has been dominant since winning the WWE Championship earlier this year. He could very well hold the title until SummerSlam if he can navigate past Drew McIntyre, who he faces once again at Hell in a Cell later this month.

Brock Lesnar's contract with WWE expired last year. The WWE Universe hasn't seen The Beast in a WWE ring since he lost the WWE Championship to McIntyre last year at WrestleMania 36. But with crowds returning, the general consensus is that WWE will bring Lesnar back at a major pay-per-view, like SummerSlam 2021.

Another report has indicated that Lesnar could face Reigns, but the time is right for The Beast to face Lashley in a long-awaited dream match. He could then perhaps go on to face Reigns after SummerSlam 2021.
