WWE Survivor Series: 5 Real possibilities now that Brock Lesnar vs. Rey Mysterio is a 'no holds barred' match

The match for the WWE Championship just became more brutal
The match for the WWE Championship just became more brutal

Rey Mysterio and Brock Lesnar are scheduled to lock horns for the WWE Championship at WWE Survivor Series 2019. This is a huge opportunity for the ultimate underdog who hasn't really been a part of the mix recently.

In fact, I had a chance to interview former WWE Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich who was full of praise for Rey Mysterio and believed that WWE has not been using him right. This is what he had to say:

"Yes, I believe that WWE has not used Rey Mysterio the right way. And they have wasted a pure talent that is loved from India to Japan to Chile to Mexico to the United States to Canada. He translates into one of those wrestling warriors that people love to see and I believe that finally he's getting an opportunity to shine! And I hope that this Brock Lesnar feud is not just one battle."

So with that said, why the special stipulation during the big match? I do have a few theories and I will mention them in this article.

Do chime in with your comments in the section below.

#5 Allowing Paul Heyman to interfere

One would assume that Paul Heyman only made the stipulation because he has an ace up his sleeve. Whether it is a weapon he can slip to Brock Lesnar or a secret weapon in a new 'Paul Heyman' guy who could help his client retain, Heyman could unleash him upon a hapless Rey Mysterio.

Or maybe Paul Heyman gets involved himself. A well-placed low blow to Rey Mysterio could really shift the odds in favor of his client. Brock Lesnar does not usually need assistance but we've seen how well Rey Mysterio wields a lead pipe in the past as well!

#4 Allowing Rey Mysterio's son to interfere and cost Brock Lesnar

It all began when Brock Lesnar was scheduled to take on Kofi Kingston for the premiere episode of SmackDown on FOX. He went into Beast Mode and obliterated everything that stood in his path, including Rey Mysterio and his son. It wouldn't be the only time that the younger Mysterio would be attacked by Brock Lesnar either. One can only assume that he has revenge on his mind.

And so, Rey Mysterio, when he's on the verge of losing the match after going to Suplex City could certainly use a hand from his own flesh and blood.

It would be a great way to introduce the young man to the world and it doesn't get bigger than a WWE Championship match at one of WWE's biggest pay-per-view events of the calendar year. If he helps his dad become WWE Champion, it would be one of the best WWE moments of the decade!

#3 Allows Cain Velasquez to make a big return to the ring

Cain Velasquez transitioned from the world of the UFC to WWE and made an instant name by going for the top dog. He took on Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel but unfortunately came up short against the reigning WWE Champion.

Could he make a return at Survivor Series and make use of the stipulation to allow his friend Rey Mysterio to pick up a big win? In fact, could he come back to turn on his friend Mysterio and go heel, in the months to follow?

Velasquez has a long way to go as a professional wrestler. Working with Mysterio will be an incredible learning experience for him and could make him a star attraction in the months to follow.

But a return from Velasquez would certainly be welcome! The MMA star's return to WWE will be a very big deal indeed.

#2 Allows Dio Maddin to get his revenge against Brock Lesnar

In case you missed it, Samoa Joe replaced Dio Maddin on the commentary desk this week and did a pretty fabulous job as well. In case you're wondering why such was the case, check out my article chronicling the reasons by clicking right here. But Maddin is not a man to be cowed down by Brock Lesnar.

I mean this is a man who stood up to the Beast Incarnate. Maybe he uses this opportunity to come back as a top babyface and exact revenge against The Beast Incarnate, helping Rey Mysterio win. How excited will the WWE Universe be if this were to happen!?!?

Maybe Maddin can go on to become a top babyface in the roster. He certainly has the look, the size, and well, the storyline for him to achieve greatness in WWE! Imagine the pop that would accompany Maddin's return.

#1 Possibility of Humberto Carillo aligning himself with Rey Mysterio

We know for certain that Humberto Carillo will be given a massive push on WWE television going forward. He is one of those individuals who can become the breakout Latin American Superstar that WWE has been seeking for so very long.

WWE has been looking for one such megastar ever since the passing of Eddie Guerrero. And the very fact that he's had such a great showing on RAW over the past few weeks is indicative of the fact that he is going to have the whole WWE corporate machine behind him.

So, as I said at the start of the article, maybe a Latino faction may be formed! Maybe Rey Mysterio and Humberto Carillo form an alliance that stems from the latter beating up Brock Lesnar.

Yes, what I'm suggesting is that Humberto Carillo shockingly helps Rey Mysterio become the WWE Champion!
