WWE has told love triangle stories many times in the past. We've seen it with the infamous AJ Lee-CM Punk-Daniel Bryan and Lita-Matt Hardy-Edge storylines, to name a few.
On last night's episode of Monday Night RAW, the company might have hinted at yet another. However, the biggest takeaway from this is that a major tag team could be on the verge of a split.
Chad Gable and Otis are former RAW Tag Team Champions. Alpha Academy's most notable feud was against RK-Bro last year. The duo scored a massive pinfall victory over Randy Orton to capture the titles on the Road to WrestleMania 38 and subsequently got involved in some highly entertaining segments on WWE TV.
When Otis began a strange on-screen relationship with Maxxine Dupri, Chad Gable obviously didn't support what was going on. This week's episode of RAW finally saw Gable and Maxxine getting along after the latter helped them score a victory over The Viking Raiders.
Post-match, while all three of them were heading towards the entrance ramp, Gable and Maxxine shared a moment, which may have been a subtle tease for an impending split for both teams, as Maxxine herself is part of Maximum Male Models. Her stablemates were not seen on RAW this week.

Chad Gable is a phenomenal WWE Superstar worthy of a singles run
While Otis is a former Mr. Money in the Bank, Chad Gable has shown glimmers of greatness in WWE that perhaps warrant a better position on the roster. Earlier this year, it was reported that Triple H was looking to split Alpha Academy:
"There have been discussions of pushing Chad Gable as more of a serious singles star while moving Otis to Maximum Male Models in a comedy role. Gable and Otis are on the fence about splitting up due to their long time, close friendship," tweeted WRKD Wrestling.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old WWE Superstar made some comments about The Game's handling of the duo:
"I think the way that Hunter’s used me over the past 8-9 months allowed me to show everybody what I can do technically," said Gable. "Also on the character side of things, and what that does I think in the long term is earn the respect of fans because they sniff that out and its not just the thing where ‘oh yeah he’s a great wrestler, no, he’s also entertaining us in the meantime.’"
Gable also claimed that he is comfortable with his current position in a tag team with his friend Otis, but the company seemingly views him as somebody with more potential as a singles star.
There are several among the WWE Universe that view Chad Gable similarly to The Wrestling Machine, Kurt Angle. The Hall of Famer even praised him on several occasions.
Gable himself heaped praise on the Maximum Male Models recently, especially Maxxine Dupri, for their genuine attempts at getting their gimmicks over. The former RAW Tag Team Champion even teased some "interesting" segments in the coming months. Read more here.
