Smackdown was quite enjoyable this week. This comes on the heels of an equally enjoyable Raw. WWE has improved upon the anticipation for Wrestlemania quite well and that shows on their main roster shows. This week’s Smackdown had three enjoyable matches though not of the same order.Being a two-hour show, it did everything it could to get your attention of those many minutes. Many stars shone in this show and this builds up to the final Raw, perfectly. The excitement levels may be at an all time high for this coming week. Here are the five promising developments from this weeks show.

#5 The aggression

Paige and Brie Bella lived up to the standard set by AJ Lee and Nikki Bella on Raw. This match was exceptional compared to many, many matches between women since the past three years or so.

The level of aggression these two showcased was outstanding. And Paige winning with a roll up wasn’t a disappointment. The roll up actually looked okay considering they reached that point after having a well-fought match.

More of this, please WWE.

#4 Looking strong

Luke Harper was outstanding in the moments that he graced the ring and the microphone. The gauntlet match involving the participants of the Intercontinental title match was the highlight of the night and probably the best match WWE has put out this week and that’s precisely because how the action escalated.

Luke Harper defeated Dean Ambrose and then out came Daniel Bryan and he locked Harper in a couple of submission manoeuvres which we never could have imagined Harper to be locked in. The way he was defeated was something that deserves an encore. That submission move was rare in the realms of the WWE.

#3 The icing on the cake

And then, came the final, momentous bout between Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan. It was nothing less than stellar. It was everything that was expected off it. Both of them put on quite a show and obviously stole it. This definitely deserves to repeated again and maybe they’ll get a longtime feud, which WWE should definitely capitalize on.

This match made Harper, Ziggler and Bryan look mighty strong and maybe they’ll be the prime contenders for the title.

#2 The Journey Continues

You may choose to agree or disagree, but Roman reigns has continuously and steadily improved his game in the ring. He performed quite well in the main event of Smackdown and in a very traditional way he was made to look strong in a handicap match against Kane and Seth Rollins.

The exchange between Rollins and Reigns was good enough to expect some great interactions if Rollins successfully cashes in his MITB contract.

But for now, Reigns is quickly becoming a legit performer to watch out for.

#1 A good Comeback

Randy Orton has, so far, had a successful return. But what’s even more promising and even more entertaining is his return to being a not so virtuous babyface. He is essentially back to his very grey character and that is precisely what works for him. Don’t know how much longer it will continue but it’s still one of the better things going on as far as gimmicks go in the WWE.

But, there is certainly a lot awaiting him on raw next week given how he cost the match to Rollins and Co.
