Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 is set to be released on Apil 22, 2024, but the spoilers for chapter 257 have been released. According to the spoilers, this chapter could be the most surprising and nerve-wracking one in a while.

The chapter unveiled the relationship between Itadori and Yuji, as the former's son was the twin brother of the King of Curses. The King of Curses devoured this twin brother, and after its death, Kenjaku put his hands on its soul and created Yuji Itadori.

This makes the fans think that Itadori meeting Megumi at the start of the series is necessary, as Kenjaku had planned for him to become a cursed sorcerer to fight against Sukuna before his birth. Moreover, this could relate to Kenjaku's promise after Gojo Satoru was unsealed.

According to the spoilers of chapter 257, the chapter started with a conversation change between Sukuna and Uraume about Yuji Itadori. The King of Curses revealed that Jin Itadori was his twin brother when both of them were in their mother's womb. Sukuna had to devout Jin's body to get rid of his starvation, thus resulting in his death.

Surprisingly, Kenjaku got hold of this undead baby's soul and reincarnated it as Jin Itadori, with whom he created the series's protagonist, Yuji Itadori. The chapter then returns to the ongoing fight between Yuji and Sukuna, in which consecutive Black Flash techniques hit the former.

The chapter also revealed Itadori to have two cursed techniques, one of which was his Blood Manipulation, which he inherited as a Death Painting and nurtured with the help of Choso. His second cursed technique was titled 'Shrine,' which he inherited from Sukuna.

The chapter continued with the arrival of Ino, who summoned a dragon using his cursed technique and threw Nanami's blade towards the King of Curses. Sukuna managed to catch it but was surprised by Itadori, who approached him and hit him with another Black Flash.

Sukuna became wary of Yuji, hitting him with so many consecutive Black Flash techniques, fearing he could be aiming to become equal with the King of Curses. As the chapter concluded, Yuji hit Sukuna with the 7th consecutive Black Flash, as the narrator claimed Yuji became equal to the King of Curses and later surpassed the Sukuna.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The start

In episode/chapter 1 of the series, Itadori Yuji was introduced as a layperson who had no idea about the existence of curses or the Jujutsu High. A special grade cursed object was placed at his school, and Fushigoro Megumi was assigned to retrieve it. Unfortunately, the cursed object was in the possession of Itadori, who had handed it over to his Occult Research Club.

Later, after the death of Yuji's grandfather, Megumi crossed paths with Yuji, who informed the cursed sorcerer that his club member would be removing the talisman from the cursed object that night. They rushed towards school, but unfortunately, different grades of cursed spirits had already invaded the school's vicinity.

Megumi tried to hold them off by himself, but Yuji had to interfere. Ultimately, Yuji ate the special-grade object, which awakened the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. Yuji could control his body even after Sukuna awakened, followed by the arrival of Gojo Satoru, and the rest is history.

So, with the reveal from the latest chapter, it could be speculated that Kenjaku planned the events that happened in the first couple of episodes. He could have placed Sukuna's finger (the special-grade cursed object) so that Itadori could retrieve it. This could indicate that Megumi's intervention in Itadori's life didn't need him to learn about curses.

Moreover, after Gojo Satoru was unsealed in chapter 221, Kenjaku appeared before Sukuna and refrained from fighting Gojo Satoru and fulfilling their promise first. The promise could be to create/find a sorcerer than Sukuna. The reason Kenjaku stopped Sukuna from fighting Gojo could be because he wanted Gojo to die in front of Itadori Yuji.

From the series' start, it could be established that Itadori's power increases after he experiences any trauma, just like how he beat Mahito after he killed Nanami. Similarly, he could have wanted Itadori to become the strongest opponent for the King of Curses, so he made Sukuna agree to fight in Shinjuku, where Itadori could witness the death of his favorite teacher.

Ultimately, it could have been Kenjaku's plan to make Itadori and Sukuna fight from the very start of the series, such that Itadori meeting Fushigoro and joining the Jujutsu High could be considered irrelevant to the whole plot line. According to the latest chapter, Itadori could have become a sorcerer stronger than Sukuna.
