Kagurabachi chapter 38 was released on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 12 am JST in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #30. The chapter showcased Chihiro Rokuhira's battle against Kyora Sazanami inside the latter's Storehouse. Wielding Enten, the protagonist dominated the battle, thanks to Hakuri's aid.

Previously in Kagurabachi, Chihiro, Hakuri, and Shiba discovered that the emergency door to Kyora Sazanami's Storehouse was destroyed. However, Hakuri was able to infiltrate the Storehouse, thanks to his strong connection to his father. He sent Chihiro inside the vault, who then retrieved his blade, Enten, and prepared to battle Kyora.

Kagurabachi chapter 38: Hakuri reveals to Chihiro the essential facts about the Storehouse and the "Registration"

Picking up the events from the previous chapter, Kagurabachi chapter 38 begins with Chihiro Rokuhira facing Kyora Sazanami, with Enten's Nishiki activated. A page later, the chapter delves into a flashback to a while back and shows Hakuri telling Chihiro that the person on the stage is not his father but a preview image projected via his consciousness.

The real Kyora Sazanami is in the Storehouse, guarding the merchandise. Following that in Kagurabachi chapter 38, Hakuri successfully registers Chihiro to send him to the Storehouse. Suddenly, he remembers that the process of Registration is a groundwork sorcery.

In other words, it cannot override counteracting Spirit Energy. Since Chihiro's Spirit Energy is imbued in Enten, it can resist Registration. Even Kyora Sazanami cannot simply transport it whenever he likes. Hakuri realizes that he has received the ability to transport Enten.

According to Kagurabachi chapter 38, since Enten is imbued with Chihiro's Cursed Energy, it's indirectly tied to him. Therefore, he feels that the Blade indirectly got registered along with Chihiro. However, Chihiro doesn't want him to retrieve it now.

Instead, he asks him what happens to Kyora's Storehouse if they kill him there. Hakuri's intuition tells him that it won't immediately be destroyed.

Chihiro then suggests to Hakuri that with his current powers, he should take over the Storehouse if the manager (Kyora Sazanami) dies. As such, he wants the boy to send him to Kyora's Storehouse because he has to eliminate him.

Kagurabachi chapter 38: Chihiro's battle against Kyora begins

Following the short flashback, Kagurabachi chapter 38 returns to the present and shows Chihiro Rokuhira demonstrating Kuro: Shred inside the vault. Kyora vehemently asks Chihiro to return the Enten, since they had a deal. However, Chihiro mocks him, saying he probably didn't anticipate everything.

Kyora replies that while he can accept defeat as long as he has tried his best, he has yet to put his life on the line to protect the auction. He declares that he will battle to the death for Enten and the Rakuzaichi. Following that, the chapter shows Chihiro charging at Kyora with his blade.

However, the Sazanami clan head dodges the attack, and counters it by manipulating the terrains surrounding him. Chihiro notices hidden Katanas emerging from the terrain.

Kyora feels that inside the Storehouse, he has the best chance to defeat an Enchanted Blade user since every item and the landscape inside the vault responds to his wishes. Interestingly, Kagurabachi chapter 38 reveals that Katanas aren't the only thing Kyora can imbue with his sorcery.

He sends dozens of grenades at Chihiro. Hakuri from the outside feels Chihiro's speed alone won't help him evade the grenades. Kyora pounces on the opportunity to send more grenades at Chihiro, who cuts through them using his expert swordsmanship.

Hakuri realizes that Chihiro has imbued his Spirit Energy with the grenades by cutting them using his Enten. It allows him to transfer the grenades to the real world. Kagurabachi chapter 38 then shows a horrific scene, as Hakuri retrieves the grenades to the hall to eliminate several spectators.

Kagurabachi chapter 38: Chihiro's masterplan baffles Kyora

Although Chihiro and Hakuri's unexpected move spoils Kyora's plans to some extent, he proudly exclaims that he (Chihiro) hasn't even scathed him. While he has more materials at his disposal, Chihiro's appears worn out.

Yet suddenly, he notices several empty prisons in the Storehouse. Kyora Sazanami finally figures out that Chihiro's troupe of Goldfish is imbued with his Spirit Energy. As such, he used them to imbue his Spirit Energy with the merchandise so that Hakuri could retrieve them.

Kagurabachi chapter 38 confirms that Chihiro's master plan was to prioritize saving the prisoners. Undoubtedly, this enrages Kyora. Meanwhile, several spectators begin to leave the auction due to the chaos. However, Kyora Sazanami shouts at them, asking them to come back.

He plans to proceed with the auction as planned. Kagurabachi chapter 38 ends with Kyora Sazanami declaring that he will begin the auction for the Shinuchi blade. The Sazanami head wants to crush Chihiro for everything that he has done.
