Lazarus episode 11: Axel's life hangs in the balance while Eleina makes further progress

Lazarus episode 11 was released on June 15, 2025. The latest installment revealed truths about Axel's past as a prison death-row inmate and his exposure to Hapna. The episode also followed Eleina and Doug going to Pakistan to investigate the artificial heart.

From a confrontation between Soryu and Axel, to Elaina and Doug being tailed by INSCOM in Pakistan, the entirety of Lazarus episode 11, titled Runnin' with the Devil, was a mixture of several perspectives.

Lazarus episode 11: Axel faces the phantom assassin Soryu in an oscillating fight

Lazarus episode 11 opens up with Axel on his way to secure a witness, specifically the prison doctor who worked at Arizona Prison. However, he is confronted by Soryu, the phantom assassin, on his way. As Soryu notices Axel, he rushes, and a back-and-forth fight commences between the two. While Axel tries to make a break and escape, Soryu continues to chase him.

Soryu creates several explosions throughout the fight, which come to notice at the NSA Headquarters. Abel was informed immediately as he was visiting Hersch Lindemann. Christine immediately went out to help and bring back Axel, while Abel also left to free Hersch, putting Leland in charge of the HQ.

Meanwhile, the battle between Axel and Soryu had escalated. After an explosion while hanging onto a train, Axel fell into the water and somehow managed to get on a boat. Soryu also followed after him, and the battle resumed. As Axel was about to punch Soryu, the latter noticed the Hundan's wing pendant around Axel's neck and got distracted, thinking about his past.

As Christine arrived at the docks, it was already too late, as Axel was pierced with a spear that Soryu threw. As Soryu started approaching Axel, asking about the Hundan, Christine intervened with gunshots, leading Soryu to jump into the water and flee the scene. Christine then rushed to an unconscious, bleeding Axel, ending the episode.

Lazarus episode 11: Eleina and Doug reach Pakistan in search of the Popcorn Wizard

While the fight between Axel and Soryu was ongoing, Eleina and Doug reached Pakistan in search of the Popcorn Wizard after Eleina discovered that the artificial heart was being monitored from the Popcorn Wizard's location. However, as soon as they arrived, Hersch found out that the US Military INSCOM was after them.

After leaving a note for Abel, Hersch leaves for the INSCOM to stop them from pursuing Eleina and Doug. As the former meets with second lieutenant Schneider, she tries to leverage with them by using information about Axel's identity and the Arizona Prison experiments. However, she gets detained instead, and Abel sets off to free her.

Meanwhile, the Lazarus episode 11 shifts its focus back to Eleina and Doug, who were being tailed by the INSCOM personnel in Pakistan. Doug then plans to hold them back so that Eleina can take the bike and go after the Popcorn Wizard. Further down the road, Doug is seen standing beside the car with his hands up in the air as a gesture of surrender.

However, the agents soon notice Eleina missing and making an escape on the bike. While they tackled Doug and tried to pursue Eleina, Doug shot out the tires on the agents' car, making them lose balance and fall off a cliff. Despite her condition worsening, Eleina finally closes in on the Popcorn Wizard and immediately faints afterwards.

Lazarus episode 11 was mostly about the fight between Axel and Soryu, with the conclusion leading to a massive cliffhanger for the series. It is yet to be determined whether Axel will survive the deadly wound or not. Meanwhile, with Eleina's worsening condition, her health status is also to be seen in the upcoming episode, alongside Hersche's outcome of the INSCOM confrontation.
