Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23 sneak peek teases Boruto's Purple Lightning

On Friday, June 13, 2025, the official Naruto franchise website released the first preview for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23. The teaser illustration hinted at the continuation of the fight between Boruto and Jura, as the protagonist is seen using Purple Lightning against the Human God Tree.

The manga's previous chapter saw Jura arriving at the Land of the Wind. However, instead of collecting Ryu or Matsuri's Thorn Soul Bulbs, the Human God Tree went after Boruto. Despite struggling in the fight, the protagonist succeeded in hitting him with his Rasengan Uzuhiko. Unfortunately, Jura found a way to neutralize the jutsu.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23 sneak peek brings back Kakashi Hatake's iconic jutsu

On Friday, June 13, 2025, the official website for the Naruto franchise unveiled the first preview of the upcoming Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23. The chapter is set to be released on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Shueisha's V Jump August special issue.

In the manga's previous chapter, the Human God Tree Jura finally arrived in the Land of the Wind by teleporting through one of Ryu's Claw Grimes. Upon arrival, although Jura noticed Mitsuki and the others, he decided to go after Boruto.

Elsewhere, after Boruto slashed Matsuri, her remains manifested into her Thorn Soul Bulb. Amidst this, Jura attacked Boruto and Konohamaru with a miniature Biju Bomb Sniper Shot. While the attack missed, Boruto hurried Konohamaru to rendezvous with the other shinobi. Just then, Jura arrived at Boruto's location.

After helping Konohamaru escape, Boruto switched his focus to Jura and quickly moved to attack him. During the battle, Jura caught hold of Boruto's katana and threatened to destroy it. In response, the protagonist hit the Human God Tree with his Rasengan Uzuhiko. To his surprise, Jura had found a way to neutralize the jutsu.

With this development, the odds seemed to have been stacked against Boruto. However, as revealed by the sneak peek preview for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23, the manga is set to resume this fight.

The preview illustration shows Jura grabbing Boruto's katana-wielding arm. In response, the protagonist can be seen making the hand sign for Kakashi Hatake's Lightning Release: Purple Electricity jutsu. While this is not the first time Boruto used the jutsu, the technique seemingly worked wonders on Jura, as the God Tree is depicted to be in disbelief.
