On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 unveiled the second promotional video and a new key visual. The short clip revealed the anime's release date of July 9, 2025, and previewed the opening theme song.
The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 is a sequel to the previous installment, which released 12 episodes from October 2023 to December 2023. The series is an adaptation of the eponymous fantasy light novel series by author Aneko Yusagi and illustrator Seira Minami.
The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4's new trailer confirms the July 9, 2025, release date
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the official staff held the Shield Fest - The LIVE of the Shield Hero event at Shibuya Cultural Center Owada Sakura Hall in Tokyo. During the event, the staff streamed the second promotional video for The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4.
According to the latest update from the video, The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 will air its episodes every Wednesday on AT-X at 9 pm JST, starting July 9, 2025. The series will also air on Tokyo MX at 11:30 pm JST from the same date.
Additionally, the anime will be broadcast on Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and BS Nippon TV from July 10, 2025. Furthermore, the anime's official site revealed the Blu-ray and DVD release schedule, according to which, the fourth installment will have 12 episodes.
The new The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 trailer shows Naofumi and his friends heading to Siltvelt. Additionally, the trailer features Foul and Atlas fighting in Siltvelt. The trailer also previews the ending theme song, Eien ni Ikkai no, performed by Chiaki Fujikawa. MADKID sings the opening theme, Resolution.
Furthermore, the staff unveiled a new key visual for The Rising of the Shield Hero anime, featuring Foul, Atlas, and Naofumi's friends, set against a captivating background of a raging sea. Undoubtedly, the visual creates anticipation for the show's release.
Hitoshi Haga directs the fantasy anime at Kinema Citrus, with Keigo Kayanagi in charge of the series scripts. Franziska Van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa are the show's character designers. Takanori Yamamoto serves as the assistant director, while Kevin Penkin is the music composer.

The fourth installment will feature returning cast members, with Kaito Ishikawa as Naofumi, Asami Seto as Raphtalia, Rina Hidaka as Filo, Maaya Uchida as Melty Q, Sarah Emi as Melty S, Konomi Kohara as Atla, and others. New cast members include Takeo Otsuka as Werner and Jiro Saito as Jaralis.
The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 will follow Naofumi Iwatani and his friends as they go to Q-Ten Fo, where they will meet several challenges. Yet, before that, Naofumi must head to Siltvelt. As such, the upcoming installment will continue the adaptation from the original novel series' 13th volume.
