During One Piece’s Onigashima Raid, Queen used his Ancient Zoan transformation and high-tech weapons to corner Sanji. However, the tables were turned when Sanji awakened the true features of his genetically enhanced body. Despite his defeat against Sanji, it’s impossible not to enjoy Queen as a hilarious character who entertained fans with his weird brachiosaurus-based techniques, funny antics, and amusing musical performances.
Queen’s quirky character shouldn’t be misleading, as he is a mad scientist known as “The Plague” for his deadly viruses. As per the recent Vivre Card databook, Queen’s real name is Scien. Kaido gives his subordinates names based on playing cards, so when Scien joined the Beasts Pirates, he renamed him "Queen." This emphasized Queen as Kaido’s second strongest subordinate, only below Alber, a Lunarian survivor who was given the name “King.”
36 years before the present One Piece narration, Scien had a child with an unknown woman. The child's identity has never been revealed. The only thing known is that Scien abandoned his child shortly after the dissolution of MADS, a research team he was part of together with other scientists. This means that any One Piece character born 36 years before the present narration could possibly be the grown-up child of Scien—or rather, Queen.

From Nezumi to Franky, 9 One Piece characters who could be Queen's son, ranked from least to most likely
9) Nezumi
Nezumi is a corrupt Marine officer who deliberately covered Arlong’s actions in exchange for monthly cash bribes. Nezumi was born 36 years before the present One Piece narration, just like Queen’s child, but there’s no way he is the mysterious offspring of the mad scientist. Aesthetically, they couldn’t look any less alike.
The only thing Queen and Nezumi have in common is that they are both cowards. Queen was terrorized by Big Mom, both when the latter arrived in Udon and when she regained her memory. He was also scared and intimidated by Zoro when the green-haired swordsman put an end to his sadistic game with the Ice Oni virus.
Queen only shows confidence when he thinks he is stronger than his opponent or when he is sure he is in a favorable position. Despite being the leader of the Navy’s 16th Branch, Nezumi is an extremely weak coward who relies on his rank to gain personal benefits. Admittedly, cowardice is not enough of a common trait for Queen and Nezumi to be father and son.
8) Vito
Vito is known to One Piece fans as a prominent member of the Fire Tank Pirates, the crew led by Worst Generation member Capone “Gang” Bege. Easily recognizable by his grinning face, snake-like curling tongue, rounded sunglasses, and disproportionately large hands, Vito wields a pair of large revolvers with enough proficiency to earn the epithet of “Monster Gun.”
Vito was born exactly 36 years before the present One Piece narration. Therefore, he could possibly be Queen’s son. However, they don’t look much alike, seemingly disproving this option. Even considering Queen during his days as Scien, when he became the father of his unknown child, the aesthetic resemblance remains remote, especially regarding their hair color.
7) Kumadori
Kumadori is a former CP9 member who was dismissed by the World Government and later reinstated and promoted to CP0. That said, he wasn’t selected to be a masked agent, meaning he is still not a member of the CP0’s true elite. One Piece revealed that Kumadori’s mother is a woman named Yamanbako but never disclosed the identity of his father.
Considering that Kumadori was born 36 years ago, the possibility that he is Queen’s son can’t be ruled out. That said, they have little in common. Kumadori is a large man with a huge torso, much like Queen's, but his body isn’t even remotely as massive. Moreover, the size difference between his torso and his legs is not as pronounced as in Queen’s case.
6) Kelly Funk
An assassin who competed in Dressrosa’s Corrida Colosseum to win the Flame-Flame Fruit, Kelly Funk uses the Jacket-Jacket Fruit to transform himself into a human skin jacket for his brother Bobby to wear. This allows Kelly to take control of Bobby’s body, giving him access to the latter’s remarkable physical might.
Kelly Funk was born 36 years before the present One Piece narration in the Mogaro Kingdom, a country located in the Grand Line. Given Queen’s recurring funky behavior, it’s not impossible that he named a child Kelly Funk. However, this is too little to theorize a father-son relationship between them.
5) Demalo Black
Soft on the powerful but tough on the weak, Demaro Black is an arrogant criminal who has managed to survive and even make a name for himself by manipulating others. When the Straw Hat Pirates disappeared from the public eye, Black led a group of impostors to impersonate Luffy and the others to use their reputation to recruit strong individuals at their service.
The grotesque attempt failed miserably, in part because Black and the others put their plan into action right when the real Straw Hats decided to reunite at Sabaody and because their disguises were comically bad. Black was born 36 years ago, just like Queen’s child, and his pear-shaped physique is also vaguely reminiscent of Queen’s.
Furthermore, Demaro Black’s preposterous disguises and blind arrogance reflect two of Queen’s most distinctive traits: clumsiness and hubris. While it’s not impossible for Black to be Queen’s son, it seems more unlikely than not.
4) Smoker
In terms of personality and behavior, Smoker couldn’t be further from Queen. While Queen is a mad scientist and a vicious pirate, Smoker is an honorable individual. Despite being a Navy officer who is supposed to work following the orders of his superiors and the World Government, Smoker believes in his own personal idea of justice. He acts freely, depending on his perception of the situation.
Despising corruption and immorality, Smoker strongly disliked the Seven Warlords and even expressed his open discontent with the ways of the World Government. Admittedly, it’s hard to imagine Smoker as the offspring of someone like Queen. On the other hand, children don’t necessarily follow the example of their parents.
Smoker has always been seen smoking two cigars at once. Likewise, Queen has always been seen smoking a huge cigar. Perhaps, Smoker is Queen’s abandoned child and took up this health-damaging habit because he grew up watching his father smoking. This can’t be ruled out until proven otherwise, as Smoker was born in the Grand Line 36 years before the present One Piece narration, much like Queen’s unknown child.
3) Catarina Devon
A member of the fearsome Blackbeard Pirates, “Crescent Moon Hunter” Catarina Devon is a former prisoner of Impel Down’s Sixth Level. She ate a Mythical Zoan Fruit, the Dog-Dog Fruit Model: Nine Tailed Fox, which allows her to shapeshift and take on the appearance of other people.
Devon is known for being the most ruthless female criminal in the One Piece world, as she killed many beautiful women to collect their heads. She also enjoyed taunting Gecko Moria by disguising herself as Absalom to mock his expectations of seeing his beloved subordinate alive.
Such sadistic nature is the same as Queen, a mad scientist who enjoyed tormenting others with his virus to the point where this twisted habit earned him the moniker “Plague.” Devon was born exactly 36 years ago, so–assuming that she is Queen’s unknown child–it’s theoretically possible that she has inherited her sadistic tendencies from Queen.
2) Absalom
Absalom was one of Gecko Moria’s most trusted subordinates, leading the Warlord’s zombie army before the collapse of Thriller Bark. Apart from being born 36 years before the present narration, Absalom also has blonde hair, and it goes without saying that these two elements make him a good candidate to be Queen’s lost son.
Queen and Absalom also have several things in common, suggesting a possible father-son connection between them. Both have invisibility-based powers but weren’t able to use these rare abilities to their full potential, instead employing them for deplorable purposes such as spying and harassing women.
Absalom could turn himself and anything he touched invisible by using the Clear-Clear Fruit. He employed this ability to spy on Nami while she was taking a bath. He even kidnapped Nami to force her to become his bride. At some point during the two-year timeskip, Absalom was captured and killed by the Blackbeard Pirates, who stole his Clear-Clear Fruit to give it to Shiryu.
As for Queen, he replicated the invisibility of Sanji’s Raid Suit. When a geisha named Osome rejected his advances under false pretenses, Queen used his invisibility to beat her up without getting recognized. This despicable behavior backfired when Queen used his invisibility in the fight against Sanji. Instead of focusing on his opponent, Queen was once again distracted by Osome, which left him vulnerable to Sanji’s subsequent barrage of kicks.
1) Franky
The Straw Hat crew’s shipwright, Franky was born 36 years before the present narration. His parents have never been revealed. It is only known that they abandoned him when he was 10 years old. The coincidences with Queen’s timeline are astounding, as Queen–who at the time was still known as Scien–had a child 36 years ago and abandoned him 10 years later.
As absurd as it may seem, One Piece author Eiichiro Oda seems to hint at some mysterious connection between Franky and Queen. Oda put Franky on the cover of volume 39 and Queen on the one of volume 93–with 39 and 93 being the inverse of each other–even going as far as to draw them in the exact same pose. Oda loves to mislead his readers with red herrings, but this one is too big to be ignored.
Oda already did something similar when he foreshadowed Buggy, Luffy, and Blackbeard becoming Emperors by drawing them along with Shanks on the cover of volume 25. The One Piece author drew the same characters in the same pose on the cover of volume 105, with all of them now becoming Emperors. So, it’s not too farfetched to think that Oda will go the same way with Franky and Queen.
Franky and Queen have many things in common, perhaps too many for being two strangers. Both have a flashy, flamboyant personality, emphasized by a comical attitude with established running gags. They also share the same love for musical performances and grotesque poses. Of course, both Queen and Franky are cyborgs who altered their bodies with technological enhancements.
The coincidences continue as Queen ate the Zoan Devil Fruit of the Brachiosaurus, while Franky built a vehicle named “Brachio Tank.” The theory is made all the more intriguing by the fact that the ship that was seen near the location where Franky was found after his parents abandoned him is very similar to the vessel used by Queen’s MADS group.
That said, One Piece has yet to confirm whether Franky truly is Queen’s son, and the two have never personally interacted in the series despite being both present in the same place at the same time, during the Onigashima Raid. This leaves open the possibility that Oda is just misleading readers, and Queen’s son is just some insignificant individual who simply shares the same birth year with other One Piece characters.
