With the release of Spy x Family chapter 117, the manga finally resumed the fight between the Thorn Princess (Yor Forger) and Hemlock. Hemlock believed that Yor's senses as a pruner had become dull. However, as he threatened to go after her family, Yor was fueled with rage.

The manga's previous chapter was an extra chapter catered to Director McMahon. Before heading for the mission on Princess Lorelei, he had struck a deal with his wife. She would feed Keekee in his absence in exchange for some souvenirs. As expected, the first thing McMahon did after giving his mission report to the Shopkeeper was return home to his wife.

Spy x Family chapter 117 resumed from where the previous full chapter ended, as Hemlock attacked Yor Forger, challenging her to a battle. Seeing Hemlock swinging his sword for real, Yor tied her hair, preparing for battle. That's when Hemlock revealed that he was attacking her due to her prenicious influence. As per Hemlock, Yor's mind was full of nonsense like welcome home kisses, dulling her abilities as a pruner.

According to Hemlock, as the Shopkeeper's pruners, they were the blades of their motherland, whose mere role was to be bloodstained tools, without need for love or happiness. Yor tried to fight back, but kept pulling her punches, not wanting to hurt her colleague. Right after, Hemlock extended his weapon by joining it with another and slit Yor's neck.

Hemlock once admired Yor as the sharpest pruning blade from the Garden. However, after she joined her family, he could no longer look at her, as her edge slowly got dull. He was not disappointed but angry. As per Hemlock, while Yor was filing papers at the city hall, making merry with the first lady, and making out with her husband, he was stoically cultivating his strength.

Hemlock believed that only those beloved by isolation could become the sharpest blades. He had abandoned friends and women a long time ago, and as a result, believed himself to be the strongest. While Hemlock did not have a lot of friends to begin with, he also stopped visiting the barbershop in an attempt to attain true isolation.

After failing to strike a decisive attack on Yor, Hemlock turned back, threatening to prune Yor's brother and family to free her from their shackles. Needless to say, this threat filled Yor with rage as she started fighting back seriously. While Hemlock believed it was a good chance for him to prove his superiority in strength, Yor's attacks were far stronger.

Moments later in Spy x Family chapter 117, Yor Forger struck Hemlock's head with a rock, caught a kunai with her mouth and spat it back at him, broke Hemlock's sword with her pommel, and dealt a "feint with intent strike" at her opponent, winning the fight by a landslide. With that, Yor asked Hemlock never to target her family again. As for Hemlock, he was shocked to learn that his isolation gave him no special strength.

Just then, Keekee arrived with McMahon's message to inform Yor and Hemlock about the poachers' base. As Hemlock was too shocked to move, Yor dragged him to their destination.
