Yuji: Yuji Itadori's family tree following Jujutsu Kaisen's twin reveal, explained

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 has been a revelation in terms of shedding light on Yuji's background. Prior to this chapter, little was known of his lineage and the fact that he is a Cursed Womb like Choso. But the details brought to light by Ryomen Sukuna have been an absolute game-changer.

The endless theories relating Sukuna and Yuji as twins due to various reasons have been debunked. Moreover, an unlikely face joined into the equation, whose introduction explains a lot about our protagonist.

With the more information on Yuji's parents finally surfacing, we know what his family tree might look like.

Wasuke Itadori (Grandfather)

Wasuke Itadori is Yuji's grandfather. He is shown very early on in the series when his grandson pays him a visit to the hospital. It is shown that Yuji and his grandfather were quite close, and during his final hours, he wished to reveal something to Yuji about his parents.

But the boy refuses to heed his words, instead asking him to "stop acting cool". As he draws his last breath, Wasuke tells Yuji that he is a "strong kid" and to help people whenever possible.

He also implores Yuji to make sure he is surrounded by friends on his own deathbed, unlike him. Wasuke passes away and Yuji collects his ashes in an urn from the morgue.

Jin Itadori (Father)

Yuji's father is shown briefly during Itadori's Extermination Arc. He is seen cradling baby Yuji in his arms as he converses with his father, Wasuke. The old man warns him of Kaori, stating that she isn't what she seems to be. However, after the events of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257, it all makes sense.

As revealed, Jin Itadori is the reincarnation of the soul of Sukuna's twin. Apparently, Sukuna consumed/absorbed his twin brother in the womb to avoid "hunger". Later, through some twisted way, Kenjaku played a hand in reincarnating the twin's soul into Jin.

Kaori Itadori/Kenjaku (Mother)

After Noritoshi Kamo, Kenjaku's next target was Jin Itadori's wife and Wasuke's daughter-in-law, Kaori Itadori. Very little is known of Yuji's original mother, apart from the fact she possessed an extremely powerful Cursed Technique, Gravity Manipulation (like Yuki Tsukumo).

Nonetheless, Kenjaku highjacked Kaori's body and procreated with Jin to give birth to Yuji. The reason behind why he did so remains unknown. But it can speculated that Kenjaku/Kaori made a deal with the reincarnated twin for life in exchange for procreation to birth Yuji.

Yuji Itadori (Son)

The offspring of Kaori/Kenjaku and Jin is Yuji Itadori. Up until now, very little was known about who he was and where he came from. But the latest chapters, quite astonishingly, puts matters into perspective well.

So in simple words, Yuji is presently fighting his uncle in a battle to the death. Moreover, his evolution is occurring at such a quick rate due to the kind of lineage and relations he possesses - Kenjaku, Sukuna, Kaori, and Jin.

The first two are undoubtedly extremely powerful sorcerers. As for Kaori, during his fight against Yuki and Choso, Kenjaku was full of praise for her Cursed Technique. Lastly, Jin being the twin of Sukuna presumably puts him high on the power scale.

Ryomen Sukuna (Uncle)

Most shocking of all, Ryomen Sukuna has turned out to be Yuji Itadori's uncle. As stated previously, he consumed/absorbed his twin in the womb. Given the information about twins in Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna doing so led him to immense power (similar to Maki awakening after Mai absorbed the little Cursed Energy she had left before dying).

But his twin's soul still existed. Due to his brother reincarnating as Jin, that relates the pair of them and makes him a relative of Yuji as well, i.e., his uncle. Also, judging by his words, he knew of Kenjaku's deeds all along, saying that he did "the grossest things" at one point.

Choso, Kechizu, Eso (Half-brothers)

Choso, Kechizu, and Eso are three of the nine Cursed Wombs that Kenjaku created during the Meiji Era. As Noritoshi Kamo, he captured a woman with a rare genetic composition who birthed a half-human and half-curse child. The woman then had nine pregnancies and nine abortions which became Death Painting Wombs.

To sum it up, this makes Choso, Kechizu, and Eso the half-brothers of Yuji. Kechizu and Eso were exorcised by Yuji and Nobara early on. However, during their fight in Shibuya, Choso had a vision of the four of them which led him to discover that Yuji was in fact one of his brothers.
