Connor Essegian, born December 12, 2003, is a shooting guard who transferred to the Nebraska Cornhuskers after spending two seasons with the Wisconsin Badgers. The 6ft 4inch guard was the first Wisconsin signing from the state of Indiana since 1997 and was one of the most prolific scorers in Indiana’s history. During his freshman season with the Badgers, Essegian played in all 35 games with 19 starts and averaged 11.7 points, 2.0 3-pointers per game, and 27.3 minutes per game. He concluded the rookie campaign as the program’s third-leading scorer and later represented the Armenian national basketball team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification. Last season, Essegian played in 33 games and averaged 3.2 points per game. After two seasons with the program, Essegian decided to transfer to Nebraska with two years of eligibility remaining.

He was rated as a three-star recruit out of Central Noble High School and was ranked tenth in the state of Indiana in the 2022 recruiting class. During his senior year, he led the school to the Class 2A state basketball title game while averaging 26.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Essegian placed himself in the 10th position in Indiana State high school history with 2,526 points and also finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer.
