During his rookie season, Mohamed Diarra played in 20 games for Garden City CC, averaging 8.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. In his sophomore year, he averaged 17.8 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, earning him the title of top JUCO prospect.
After playing basketball for a JUCO for two seasons, Diarra decided to commit to Missouri. In the 2022–2023 season, Diarra played in 25 games and made six starts, averaging 3.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
