She also led Bishop Miege to a 21-2 overall record and a 48-1 record combined in her freshman and sophomore seasons. As a freshman, she led the school to the state title game and won it in her sophomore season. Verhulst averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in her freshman year and recorded 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 4.0 steals and 3.0 blocks in her sophomore season. During her 2019 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, she was a starter in all six games and led her side to a 6-0 record and a gold medal in Puerto Aysen, Chile. Following her performance, she was named the Championship MVP. She also led the USA Basketball Women's U19 World Cup Team to a gold as they won 70-52 against Australia at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup final game.
