Chris attended Thurgood Marshall High School in Missouri City, Missouri, where he began his football career. As a junior, Marshall recorded 45 receptions for 1,009 yards and 18 touchdowns. The following year, he recorded 466 yards, 11 touchdowns and averaged 31.1 yards per catch, earning District 11-5A-II Offensive MVP twice in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
