Eric Gentry is an American college football player who currently plays for the USC Trojans as a linebacker. He was transferred to the USC Trojans from Arizona State back in 2022 and has played with the team for two seasons. Eric’s college career started with Arizona State Sun Devils, where he played for one season during the 2021-2022 season. His football career commenced at his high school, he attended the Saints Neumann Goretti High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During his high school football career, he played both linebacker and defensive end. In his 2019 junior year, he posted 15 sacks, two interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries on defense, and two touchdowns. Eric did not play in his senior year in 2021, he was enrolled in the Arizona State Sun Devils where he played his freshman year.

In his freshman year with the Sun Devils, he was a 2021 consensus Freshmen All-American first-teamer. In the 2021 season, he appeared in 12 and recorded 45 tackles, five for losses of 18 yards, and two deflections. He joined Arizona State a semester early from high school, and in 2022 again transferred to the USC Trojans. In 2022, in his first year, he appeared in 11 games making 9 starts, and recorded a high stats. He managed to rack up 71 tackles, four for loss of 19 yards, two forced fumbles, and three pass breakups.

In 2023, Eric appeared in 11 games making three starts and posting 46 tackles, including four for a loss of 16 yards, five PBUs, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick. Now in 2024, he will be in his senior class and a key linebacker for the USC Trojans.
