The Indian squad who was going to be taking part in the Prudential 1983 world cup was announced in May 1983 by the BCCI. Kapil Dev was named the captain of the team which had a lot of seasonal campaigners with the likes of the legendary Indian batsmen and the original 'little master', Sunil Gavaskar, the current Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri, Mohinder Amarnath, Rodger Binny among many other great names.
