Akash Deep is a bowler who plays for India in Test format. He has represented two Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, as of April 2025. Born on December 15, 1996, he started his cricketing journey by playing tennis ball matches in Durgapur. He made his domestic T20 debut for Bengal in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) contest against Maharashtra on March 9, 2019. In the same year, he made his List A and first-class debut against Gujarat and Andhra respectively.
The right-handed bowler started his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2022. He made his IPL debut against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 27, 2022 at DY Patil Sports Academy. He managed to take one wicket and went for 38 runs in three overs on his IPL debut. Before being signed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2025 auction, he made his international debut for India in a Test match against England on February 23, 2024.
