The ICC Champions Trophy is a global cricket tournament held once every four years in the ODI format. The competition includes eight teams, determined by their performance in the most recent ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. These teams are divided into two groups, each containing four teams. Within their respective groups, each team competes against the other three teams. The leading two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals, and the winners of the semi-finals progress to the final.

Formerly known as the ICC KnockOut Trophy, the first edition of the Champions Trophy was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1998. Since its inception, Bangladesh has competed in four editions: 1998, 2002, 2017, and the upcoming 2025 tournament. Among these appearances, the 2017 edition marked a historic milestone for the team, as they advanced to the semi-finals for the first time but ultimately lost to India.
