Middle Order

Kusal Perera

Kusal Perera

Sri Lankan southpaw Kusal Perera recently turned down the offer of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He had a chance to replace David Warner in SRH but Perera opted to play domestic cricket over the IPL.

He believes that he can make a Test comeback on the basis of his domestic form, and was in sensational form in the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy.

His shots and batting technique resemble that of Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya. Kusal has a T20I average of 30 with a strike rate of around 137. He has the ability to take on the spinners just like Jayasuriya did, and accelerate with ease.

The southpaw will be the right man for the number three position in this side.

Luke Ronchi (wicketkeeper)

New Zealand v South Africa - 3rd ODI
Ronchi will be the wicketkeeper of this side

Former New Zealand wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi was in impeccable form in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL). Ronchi's recent exploits have forced us to give him a place in this XI. His T20 statistics are not up to the mark but the 36-year-old has bettered his game over the years.

He scored 435 runs in 11 innings in this year's PSL and was the leading run-scorer of the tournament and had a big role to play in the victorious triumph of the Islamabad United. The New Zealand batsman improved considerably in the final stages of his career.

He will be the wicketkeeper of this Unsold XI.

Eoin Morgan (Captain)

New Zealand v England - 1st ODI
Morgan will lead this side

England's limited overs skipper Eoin Morgan will lead this Unsold side. Despite his poor IPL record, Morgan has found a place in this XI purely based on how he has led the England side brilliantly in the recent past. He has represented the Kings XI Punjab and the Kolkata Knight Riders in the past.

Morgan has scored 1678 T20I runs at an average of nearly 30 and his strike rate of 132.33 is a positive in the middle overs.

His strike rate increases further when he faces the spinners, with his sweep shot very effective against spin. England has won 15 out of 29 games under his leadership in the shortest format.

Thisara Perera

England Lions v Sri Lanka A - Triangular Series
Thisara will play as the all-rounder in this side

Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera will bat at number six in this lineup. He has played 37 IPL matches in which he has scalped 31 wickets, but has had limited batting opportunities and is yet to unleash his own self.

He has scored 422 runs at an average of only 19.18. Perera is a better batsman than what his records suggest. The 28-year-old has recently improved his bowling in the death overs, and can contribute with both bat and ball in this Unsold XI.
