They splashed money on Sonu Yadav (INR 20 lakh), Avinash Singh (INR 60 lakh), Rajan Kumar (INR 70 lakh), Manoj Bhandage (INR 20 lakh), Will Jacks (INR 3.2 crore), Himanshu Sharma (INR 20 lakh), Reece Topley (INR 1.9 crore).

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and their quest for the elusive IPL title continues with each season passing. RCB managed to reach the playoffs stage in IPL 2022 under the new leadership of Faf du Plessis but a loss to Royals in Qualifier 2 crashed their hopes for the coveted trophy.

RCB will continue with their core squad in the next season as they had retained 18 of 23 players from their squad for IPL 2022. The team management has backed all the expensive players like Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga.

RCB has also shown faith in youngsters like Suyash Prabhudessai, Anuj Rawat, Rajat Patidar, Mahipal Lomror, and Akash Deep. Meanwhile, the new RCB buys will make it better for RCB going into IPL 2023.

RCB Team 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2023 Auction Buys

Royal Challengers Bangalore stepped into the auction with a formidable line-up of 18 players who they had retained. Initially, they were pretty quiet, but then made some quick-fire bids and picked up seven players in the auction. RCB already have a powerful batting attack, so they went for the bowlers and all-rounders to give a balanced shape to their squad of 25 players.

IPL 2023 Auction Rules

Here are the following rules for the IPL 2023 auction that will serve as the guide for the 10 franchises while bidding in the mini-auction:-

• Each team should shell out at least 75% of their total purse.

• Each franchise needs to bolster their squad with at least 17 Indian players. The maximum Indian players which they can add to their squad is 25.

• A squad cannot include more than eight overseas players.

• There won’t be any ‘Right To Match’ (RTM) card option for the IPL 2023 auction.

IPL 2023 Auction RCB’s Purse Value

RCB went into the auction with a remaining purse value of INR 8.75 crore.They could purchase a maximum of seven players in the auction.

RCB have retained a total of 18 players with the likes of skipper Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik among the experienced players to hog the spotlight.
