The newly established LSG franchise had 15 players in their squad ahead of the IPL auction, they bought 10 players in the auction, bagging impactful t20 crickets for the upcoming season.

Although the 2022 IPL season was their debut season, the LSG team did brilliantly under the captaincy of KL Rahul. They won 9 out of their 14 matches which made them sit in the third position in the points table. Although LSG reached the playoffs, they lost their first match in the Eliminator against RCB. This time around, they will try to go all the way and lift the IPL trophy with some fresh entrants into their squad.

LSG will look to make it big in their second season and win the gold. They have purchased players from the fresh Indian pool, as well as a young Afghan cricketer. IPL 2023 Auction Rules

Here are the rules that each of the 10 franchises will have to follow in the IPL 2023 Auction-

• Each team should shell out at least 75% of their total purse.

• Each franchise needs to bolster their squad with at least 17 Indian players. The maximum Indian players which they can add to their squad is 25.

• As far as overseas players are concerned, the maximum available slots are 8.

• The 'Right to Match' (RTM) card option will not be available in the 2023 auction.

IPL 2023 Auction LSG’s Purse Value'

After releasing seven players from their 2022 IPL squad, LSG was left with Rs. 23.35 Crores to spend in the upcoming IPL Auction. They were allowed to buy up to 10 players, among whom four could be overseas.
