Four-time IPL champions CSK has the following players in their IPL squad after the completion of the auction. They are as follows:

Following a disastrous IPL 2022 season, where they finished at the 7th spot in the points table, the MS Dhoni-led outfit will look to reclaim their lost glory in the forthcoming season.

As is always the case whenever a franchise endures a poor season, the Super Kings released as many as eight players from their 2022 squad, including veteran batsman, Robin Uthappa and champion all-rounder DJ Bravo who will take over as their bowling coach.

In the auction, CSK went for a mix of players which has really helped them balance out their side, along with a great buy for a future perspective!

At the auction, CSK bought 7 players including fresh talent and experienced international players for the 2023 squad. Ben Stokes was their most valuable addition who went for INR 16.25 crore, making him the joint third-most expensive player in the IPL history. He will be an asset in both the bowling, and fielding departments for the Chennai side. Here’s the list of players purchased by CSK:

IPL 2023 Auction Rules

Here are the rules that each of the 10 franchises will have to follow in the IPL 2023 Auction-

• Each team should shell out at least 75% of their total purse.

• Each franchise needs to bolster their squad with at least 17 Indian players. The maximum Indian players which they can add to their squad is 25.

• As far as overseas players are concerned, the maximum available slots are 8.

• The 'Right to Match' (RTM) card option will not be available in the 2023 auction.

IPL 2023 Auction CSK’s Purse Value

The four-time champions freed up their purse by releasing 8 players from their 2022 squad.

As a result, they had INR 20.45 crores in their purse to fill up the remaining 7 slots.
