India played 19 consecutive test matches without a defeat, which is the fifth-best streak in the test history. West Indies went 27 Tests without defeat from 1982 to 1984.
Kohli has been unbeaten in 19 tests now, going past Sunil Gavaskar's previous record of 18 in 1976-80. Kapil Dev went 17 tests without a defeat in 1985-87.
2) 9 Consecutive series win
India have won nine consecutive bilateral test series, going past the previous record of five series wins from 2008-10 under MS Dhoni.
India has now equaled the Australia's streak of nine consecutive series wins from 2005-06 to 2008.
3) Virat Kohli 4th highest run-getter
Virat Kohli has become fourth highest run-getter in a three match test series with 610 runs against Sri Lanka. The record for this is held by Graham Gooch, who made 752 runs against India in 1990.
4) 600+ runs in 3 Consecutive Tests
India has become the only team in the history of world cricket to score 600+ score in three consecutive tests.
India also surpassed West Indies for most number of 650 plus scores and is only behind Australia now who have achieved this 14 times.
5) Kohli Most Double Hundreds
Virat Kohli has scored six double Hundreds and equaled the record of most double hundreds for India with Virender Sehwag and Sachin tendulkar. Also, Kohli has more double hundreds by any other captain in world cricket.
6) Biggest Winning Margin Outside India
India beat Sri Lanka with the margin of 304 runs which is the biggest win for India outside India in terms of runs. The previous highest victory margin in terms of runs was 279 against England in Leeds in 1986.
