Rohit Sharma is an Indian cricketer. He plays as right-handed opening batter and is the current captain of the Indian side across all formats. Born on 30 April 1987, Rohit is known for his ability to play the pull shot against fast bowlers and his gifted talent as a sweet timer of the ball. The 35-year-old is the second-highest scorer in T20I cricket and has scored the most runs in an ODI innings.

Rohit Sharma scored his last century in the England Tour in 2021. Virat Kohli led the Indian team to the shores of England for a five-match series which was shortened to four matches due to a Covid-19 breakout amongst the respective team members. His last century was his seventh century in his Test career and the first against England. It was the fourth match of the series and the series was levelled with one win to both the teams. Rohit got out for a mere 11 runs in the first innings and needed to score big in the second one. Opening alongside KL Rahul, they put up a opening partenership of 83 runs. Then, Cheteshwara Pujara came to bat and he built a partnership with Rohit Sharma. Rohit got dismissed by Ollie Robinson on 127, off which he scored half of his runs in boundaries. His century helped India put up a score of 466 runs in the second innings and England were forced to chase down 378. India won the match to everyone’s astonishment by 167 runs.

Rohit Sharma scored his last T20I century against West Indies in November 2018. He made an unbeaten 111 off just 61 balls to help India post a humoungous total of 195. Rohit was the acting captain of the Indian team in the match, replacing Virat Kohli. Held at Lucknow, the match was easily won by India by 71 runs. This century was his fourth in T20I cricket, the most by any batter in the format. In the whole match, Rohit kept on hitting boundaries and did not let the scoring rate slow down even after wickets fell on the other end. He hit 8 fours and a whopping 7 sixes in the whole innings, scoring at a rate of 181.97.

In Australia’s Tour of India in January 2020, Rohit Sharma scored a century in the final match of three-match ODI series. The series was levelled one all and India were in tremendous pressure of winning the last match. Australia won the match and chose to bat first. Australia put up a competitive total of 286 runs for India to chase down. Coming to bat alongside KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma have India a bolstering start. Even after KL Rahul was dismissed, Rohit continued to play his shots and built a partnership with Virat Kohli. Off Adam Zampa’s bowling, Rohit Sharma got out for 119 runs.
