Virat Kohli centuries across cricket formats is a reference of his talent and why he is referred to as one of the best in the modern cricket era. He is well known for his zeal to play match-winning knocks and has the second most international centuries at the moment. An intense, zealous, ruthless, and enthusiastic person who has taken not only India but the whole cricketing circuit by storm.
The testament to his skills can be witnessed by the number of years (15) he has served Indian cricket with passion, commitment, grit, and resilience across all three formats of the game. Virat Kohli has 79 centuries in international cricket, including a record 50 tons in ODI cricket as of November 2023. Virat Kohli scored a century and leapfrogged his idol Sachin Tendulkar to notch up the landmark 50th ODI century in front of a packed Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, November 15.
The moment came during the 42nd over of India’s innings after he stylishly flicked Ferguson on the leg side. As he completed the double, he leaped high in the air before sinking to his own. As his idol Sachin applauded him from the stands, the champion cricketer turned into a kid as he bowed down in respect. The run-machine eventually finished at 117 off 113 deliveries but not before he had put the hosts in the driver's seat.
List of Virat Kohli ODI centuries
Virat Kohli has the most One-Day International centuries of all time as he left Sachin Tendulkar behind in one of the rarest feats. With 50 centuries, the former Indian skipper leaves behind legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar’s record-holding 49 hundred in the ODIs.
