To rewind time in the game, hold the Down button on the D-Pad. Your kart will reverse its movement back through the race. Once you let go of the button, time resumes from wherever you stop.

This feature only works in solo modes — Single Player and Free Roam. It’s not available in Online or Co-op, and it doesn’t affect other racers.
