Andy Cowell is a British engineer and motorsport executive. He is the team principal and the CEO of the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team. Cowell was born on February 12, 1969, in Blackpool, England. During his childhood, he attended high school in Britain. After completing his education, he went to Lancaster University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Later on, in 1991, he was placed as a graduate engineer in Cosworth Racing. In 1999, he was appointed as the head of pre-development in F1 for BMW Motorsport. Cowell was responsible for making the concept and details of the 2001 BMW-Williams F1 engine. In 2024, Cowell was appointed as the group CEO and the team principal for the Aston Martin F1 team, replacing Mike Krack.
