Since the inception of Formula 1 into the world of motorsport, the Ferrari name has been recognized as the most successful team in the history of Formula 1. Nicknamed the Prancing Horse, it is the oldest running and the most championship-winning team since its debut in 1950. It was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 and initially raced with cars that were produced by Alfa Romeo. With growing innovation and engineering, Ferrari was able to manufacture its race car in 1947 and became one of the first teams to enter into the sport both as a team and as an engine supplier.

As a constructor in Formula 1, Ferrari has the world record of winning the most championship titles since its debut in 1950. Their last win was in 2008, and since then, they have never gotten back to the podium again. In the early 2000s, Ferrari won five consecutive constructors' championships in a row, making it the most successful era in the team's history.

Ferrari produces its engines for the F1 race cars and has also supplied engines to other F1 teams. In 1991, it was the engine supplier to the Minardi F1 team. Then, from 1992 to 1993, it was the engine technical partner to Scuderia Italia. Sauber also used Ferrari's engine until 2005. In 1961, Phil Hill won the drivers' title, and with it, Ferrari won its first-ever constructors' championship. At that time, it was named the International Cup for Formula 1 Manufacturers.

The team also holds the record for the most drivers to win over the years. Legendary drivers like Mike Hawthorn, John Surtees, Niki Lauda, Kimi Raikkonen, and Michael Schumacher won the drivers' as well as constructors' titles for the team. Schumacher made history by winning five times in a row as a driver, and Ferrari became the first team to win the constructors' championship six times from 1999 to 2004.
