Ferrari is the most successful and oldest motorsport team in the history of Formula 1. It was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 and has raced in Formula 1 since 1950. Ferrari is the very first team to be entered into the sport both as a team and as an engine constructor. It debuted in 1950 at the Monaco Grand Prix with four different drivers - Alberto Ascari, Dorino Serafini, Raymond Sommer, and Luigi Villoresi.

Since its debut in 1950, Ferrari has won 15 drivers' championship titles with legendary racers such as Alberto Ascari, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher, and Kimi Raikkonen. For the 2025 season, the team is competing in F1 as the Scuderia Ferrari HP Formula 1 team. They have also won constructors' titles multiple times in F1.

Ferrari F1 Drivers Championship Wins

The very first F1 driver championship win was achieved by Alberto Ascari in 1952. Out of eight races that year, Ascari won six and claimed the drivers' title. In 1953, they again repeated the same success with five wins out of nine races. Ascari became the first Ferrari driver to win the championship two years in a row. After a two-year drought, the team again clinched the F1 drivers' championship, and this time with Juan Manuel Fangio behind the wheel.

From the 1960s to the 1970s, Ferrari won five drivers' championships with drivers from different nations. Ferrari did not win for the next 21 years, and the F1’s greatest team went under defeat after defeat. In the early 2000s, Jean Todt was the team principal, and with Michael Schumacher, the team entered into total domination. Schumacher won five drivers’ titles and made the team constructors' champions five times in a row. Kimi Räikkönen was the last Ferrari driver to win the championship in 2007.
