Javier Mascherano has confirmed that Barcelona want him to stay

- Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane is looking to add a left-back, a midfielder and a striker to his current squad, reports AS. The Los Blancos earlier had a bid for David Alaba rejected, and are likely to go for Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez instead. Their midfield targets include Juventus’ Paul Pogba, Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante and PSG’s Marco Veratti. They have also identified Bundesliga-based pair of Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as their prime attacking targets.

- Sevilla are planning to bring in Watford’s manager Quique Sanchez Flores as a replacement for the sought-after Unai Emery, according to reports by Marca. Emery guided Sevilla to their third consecutive Europa League trophy this season, and is said to be chased by PSG and Southampton. Sanchez Flores left Watford after just one season of being in charge, and has been said to be in talks with Espanyol. However, Sevilla’s transfer chief Monchi wants the Spanish coach to wait before accepting that job as he wants Flores to take over in case Emery leaves.

- Javier Mascherano has confirmed that he will stay at Camp Nou.

The Argentinian told South American daily, Ole: “Barcelona have let me know that they have no intention to let me go, that they are very happy with me.

“When a club, especially this club, says that to you it is very difficult to leave. I do not want to force anything. There is the opportunity to leave, but also to remain. I will not do anything that could ruin my relationship with Barcelona, which has always been good. I would not leave a bitter taste in the mouth.”
